okay so i have a REALLY short copy of little women, whereas my friend has a big (normal) one, and ive alwaysss found that so odd. plus she always recalls things from the movies being in the book and im always like “what thats not in mine?”
IDK IF THIS WAS COMMON KNOWLEDGE OR NOT, BUT APPARENTLY MODERN DAY COPIES OF LITTLE WOMAN ARE TWO BOOKS IN ONE??
okay. so. my copy is little women, but JUST little women. like just the first book. bc APPARENTLY theres a second book called “good wives”, where ALL the lore happens. not gonna spoil, but hearts are poured out, and people die, iykyk. and i always thought that that was just a movie thing and that the movie was SO much different from the book, because my book was so timid and calm.
okay so BASICALLY bc little women was so timid and calm, (it still sold well BUT) when it started getting popular, louissa’s developer was like “okay u should make another book where more stuff happens” SO SHE DID and that spinoff was called “good wives”.
but because these books are SO similar, publishers started putting them together to form one book, where “good wives” isnt even mentioned (typically) and it just goes by the name little women.
AND THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A WILE CUZ MY FRIEND HAS A COPY FROM THE 50’s AND IT STILL HAS BOTH BOOKS IN IT??
so.. yeah. DID ANYONE ELSE KNOW THAT?? OR AN I JUST DUMB??
