I’ve always loved this Russel look! I think the sunglasses really ties this casual look together, and browns/earthy colors look so good on him.

I was wondering if you, or anyone else, are perhaps supporting your stories with visuals? :) Whether its illustrations to come with it, moodboards, or really only art showing snippets of the story but the actual text full length in detail to read. Cus im a shit writer for example, but am an artist so im working on character designs and want to focus on drawing scenes like the story is a movie, and make playlists that fit the mood while working on it. Can you imagine it better in words or visual?

Honestly I think it’s different for everyone, and personally I think whatever works for YOU and helps you express your story is valid and great!  From experience it seems like people can always find a way to make both work.  Some might be better at imagining a story through description and text and others may have a better time when there’s art to go with it.  But you’ve got to do what works best for you as the creator.

Personally I can’t draw at all, I’m super lucky that my RP partner (who is my Husband) is an artist and does draw our OCs relatively often, but even though he does that I make mood/aesthetic boards for my OCs a lot.  And I definitely have multiple playlists for various OCs.  Also my business that I run has always been heavily inspired by them and is another creative outlet for me to bring life to my OCs.

I don’t personally write stories because my OCs are mostly kept fairly private and the two of us just RP (and tell our friends about them from time to time) but that would be my method of choice otherwise.

SO BASICALLY what I’m trying to say, is that if you want to share your stories for your characters by revealing them in pieces of artwork rather than by writing the story (or in addition to it) go for it.  There’s no right or wrong way and if you want to do one or the other or both then you should!  Because in the end the reader/viewer is going to be able to appreciate and enjoy your work and characters more if you are doing what you are truly inspired to do and are having fun.  It’ll come across in your work!

I feel like I remember some kind of BTS picture from like half a year ago with 3d rendered models? Maybe I’m imagining things but I feel like I remember something like that, on jamie’s instagram or something. I like the idea of them doing mocap but with 3D models I’m kind of worried about something going wrong.

That’s a good point! Now that I think about it, the one of 2D with his little hat and feather boa might be part of what he’s been up to, too... Maybe he was in some kind of theatre production... thing? Though, that might be pushing it lol

I dig these theories, but was it likely for him to have a dream in a dream? Since the crocs at the beginning looked like a dream he had before he woke up. Well yeah you can have dream in a dream… but I dunno where I was going with this. I dig these theories though

I completely forgot about that tbh, but idk, maybe that part means something? It does seem like it’s 2D’s dream, or it could be a dream he had before he had the dream the rest of Do Ya Thing consists of. I’ve had dreams before that started out with me waking up, I’m sure it happens often, so I’m not sure why they put it there, but I don’t think it would disprove the theory
