La memoria RAM ammonta a 6 o 8 GB a seconda della versione; anche lo spazio d'archiviazione varia in base al modello scelto, tra 64, 128 o 256 GB, non espandibili. Sul piano della connettività viene proposto un pacchetto completo, con supporto dual nano SIM, 4G LTE Gigabit, Wi-Fi 802.11ac dual band MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0 ed NFC. Analogo discorso vale per la navigazione satellitare, con GPS, GLONASS, Galileo e BDS. La batteria non rimovibile è da 3300 mAh, dotata del sistema rapido di ricarica proprietario Dash Charge. Curiosa omissione la ricarica senza fili, considerata la costruzione in vetro.

Il comparto fotografico ha ricevuto alcuni cambiamenti rispetto i due diretti predecessori. Ciò che risulta identico è il conteggio dei Megapixel, 16 per la fotocamera principale posteriore e 20 per quella secondaria, con apertura f/1,7 per entrambe, autofocus a rilevamento di fase e flash a doppia tonalità. La principale miglioria è rappresentata dall'inclusione dello stabilizzatore ottico, che si affianca a quello ibrido che sfrutta software e giroscopio. Sono state aggiunte modalità slow motion per i video sino a 240 fps in 1080p, che raddoppiano scendendo a 720p. La risoluzione massima di cattura dei filmati è invece 4K, a 60 fps. Sia le fotocamere posteriori che quella anteriore, da 16 Megapixel, dispongono della modalità ritratto. L'audio prevede un altoparlante principale nella parte inferiore del dispositivo, con supporto Dirac HD e Dirac Power, per la riproduzione ed un set di microfoni con cancellazione di rumore per la registrazione. Il jack cuffie da 3,5 mm è presente, insieme alla porta USB-C.

A livello software, Android 8.1 Oreo è il sistema operativo preinstallato, con le personalizzazioni Oxygen OS contenute all'utile indispensabile. Tra le principali si segnalano il sistema di navigazione a gesti, già visto sul 5T e che anticipa di qualche mese quello previsto in Android P, e il nuovo editor video integrato. A proposito di Android P, è un aspetto molto meritevole da sottolineare in vista del futuro rilascio l'inclusione di OnePlus 6 già nell'attuale fase Beta, insieme ad altri dispositivi non Google. Lo smartphone è disponibile in preordine su Amazon, con l'entrata ufficiale in vendita prevista per il 23 maggio. Si parte da 519 € per la versione 6/64 GB, che salgono a 569 € per quella 8/128 GB. Per entrambe la colorazione base è Mirror Black, mentre per la più ricca si può scegliere pure Midnight Black. Sembrano essere invece, almeno per ora, esclusive dello store OnePlus i modelli 8/256 GB e la tonalità Silk White.

Ma OnePlus 6 non è stato l'unico prodotto presentato oggi. Sono stati ufficializzati anche i nuovi auricolari Bullets Wireless, con alta qualità audio grazie ad un sistema integrato per ridurre le distorsioni ed un sistema di ricarica rapida che permette di ottenere 5 ore d'ascolto ininterrotto con soli 10 minuti alla presa di corrente, mentre ne occorrono complessivamente 25 per ripristinare l'autonomia totale di 8 ore. Interessante la clip magnetica sulla parte posteriore delle due capsule, con la duplice funzione sia di tenerle più raccolte sia di effettuare lo spegnimento automatico dopo l'attrazione. I Bullets Wireless sono inoltre compatibili con l'Assistente Google. Non manca la resistenza all'acqua, rendendole adatte all'uso durante l'attività fisica. Il loro costo sarà di 69 € e verranno rilasciate con un sistema a lotti, il primo a partire dal 5 giugno.
