Brand Photography - West Midlands I had the pleasure of covering a shoot for a couple of entrepreneurs who are bringing their new drink Bull Shot to market. It was shot locally to me near Meriden at one of the barns they own. They made a day of it and brought out lots of the ingredients for the process of making Bull Shot. It's an alcoholic drink best served warm and is being aimed at the ski resorts and winter drinkers. They wished for an earthy and natural country feel to the images and the setting lent itself to that. Brand photography requires a lot of discussion with the client to establish how they wish to brand to look. Here are a few of the highlights. #drinkphotography #bullshot #bullshotdrink #productphotography #toolphotography #studiophotography #productphotos #websitephotos #brandingphotography #midlandsweddingphotographer #stylishphotography #commercialphotography #commercialphotographer #coventryphotographer #products #barnphotography (at Meriden, Coventry, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/COIkRJDLN5G/?igshid=gt5j1b7pc7up
I had to do a concept and some bullshots for hypothetical 80′s game, and this is what ended up forming on my screen.
It was my first time doing pixel art, soooo... not gonna lie, kinda proud of this, especially those balloons, they’re my favourite part ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Billy Connolly, Alan Shearman, and Christopher Good in Bullshot (Dick Clement, 1983)
Cast: Alan Shearman, Diz White, Ronald E. House, Frances Tomelty, Ron Pember, Mel Smith, Michael Aldridge, Christopher Good, Billy Connolly, Geoffrey Bayldon, Christopher Godwin, Bryan Pringle. Screenplay: Ronald E. House, Diz White, Alan Shearman, based on their play. Cinematography: Alex Thomson. Production design: Norman Greenwood. Film editing: Alan Jones. Music: John Du Prez.
The character Bulldog Drummond, created in 1920 by H.C. McNeile and portrayed in a string of mostly forgettable movies from 1922 to 1969, was a World War I veteran in search of postwar adventures, and a precursor of James Bond filtered through Sherlock Holmes. Bullshot is a silly spoof of that mostly forgotten character, cooked up by the British actors Alan Shearman and Diz White and the American Ronald E. House for a stage play that was performed in London and San Francisco. The film version is laden with sight gags, goofy accents, faintly smutty jokes, and improbable cliffhanger situations. It emulates the humor of Monty Python and Peter Sellers's Pink Panther movies but just misses. If pretty good wacky spoofs are enough for you, have at it.
Bullshot (1983)
Almost entirely forgotten spoof of the plucky WWI fighter ace Bulldog Drummond from George Harrison's Handmade Pictures, which put out a number of quirky films in the otherwise dismal wasteland for British cinema that was the 1980s. A broad lampoon of old England's view of itself, it feels a bit cut-price and the jokes can be hit-or-miss, with a few groaners amongst the belly laughs, but it's overall a nice thing to exist with a lot of verve and some memorable gags, and with better production values could have been a classic. I can imagine fans of Young Frankenstein rather enjoying it.

The NOLADrinks Show – Jeff “Beachbum” Berry and David Wondrich – Jan20Ep1
On this edition of The NOLADrinks Show with Bryan Dias, we’re back with our first new show of 2020 after our holiday break and we’ve got a great one. Jeff “Beachbum” Berry and David Wondrich return to the show to talk cocktails and much more. We’re at Belle Époque, the fine new French Quarter absinthe lounge.

We kick things off wishing everyone a happy new year and letting you know about this week’s and next week’s show. The latter is a discussion about the Turning Tables program that seeks to train and place persons of color in the bartending world.
Then, we’re off to Belle Époque, the terrific new absinthe lounge and restaurant located behind the historic Old Absinthe House on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter.
We’re joined by two of the foremost cocktail historians around, David Wondrich and Jeff “Beachbum” Berry. ICYMI – be sure to catch the last time these two were on the program in July from Tales of the Cocktail here.
We discuss all kinds of interesting things including the lost Tiki cocktail, “The Saturn,” and the somewhat mysterious man behind it, Popo Galsini. Both Jeff and Dave have interesting insight into the drink and the “lost Tiki master” who created it. See Dave’s recent piece on the topic for The Daily Beast here.
Among other things, we talk about consommé and bouillon-based cocktails like the “Bullshot” and other variants. It was a thing, largely, in the 50’s through the early 70’s.

Of course, as any time these guys are on, this description just scratched the surface of what we chat about. Jeff and Dave stick around for our podcast-only segment, “Another Shot with NOLADrinks,” where we carry-on with the fun!
Be sure to catch the “celebrity walk-on” by Belle Époque bar director, Laura Bellucci letting us know about one of the lovely absinthe-based cocktails she made us!
We close things out with our Parting Shot discussing the idea of, perhaps, being in a new era of absinthe (I think we are)!

The map below shows the location of Belle Époque as well as Jeff’s Latitude 29, both in the French Quarter of New Orleans. You can subscribe to, stream, and download the podcast of The NOLADrinks Show with Bryan Dias using the links and player at the top of this post!
Cheers, You All!
