I once read a fic and in the notes for one of the chapters this dude forreal put “sorry it’s a week late, a hurricane hit my house” and I know my sense of self preservation is bad but I convinced being an AO3 author with a chapter upload schedule makes you functionally able to survive nuclear disaster so long as you still finish your chapter before the next one is supposed to go up
