tbh i think the bumblestripe hate ive seen is a bit overblown. he's just stupid. kinda slow. also he was lowkey kind of pressured by the other older tc cats to get with dove as well? it kind of feels more like an arranged marriage was set up between two ppl when they were young teens and they're both kinda half-heartedly trying to make it work bc it feels like their only option—even though they both kinda know that it's not gonna work out in the end.
the broader social context of their whole relationship is just a mess. dove was trying to Not Be Into Tigerheart. bumble had some puppy love that older clanmates were pressing on like a bad bruise. i dont think bumble was an asshole or anything, i think he was just a bit slow and dove didn't really provide any adequate answers either which dragged things on a lot longer than necessary.
like, it's the most lukewarm relationship fallout in which no one was really the only one at fault bc no one really thought it was gonna work out anyway. bumble was clingy and dumb, dove was noncommittal and distracted.
(also personally i don't think dovextiger is any better but that's just my 2 cents which i willnot be expanding on)
