Sans comes across a podcast that dredges up some things he's been keeping firmly under lock and key. Healing isn't always a straight line though, and maybe you're just the right comfort character to help him face what hurts so much. Even if it's a little rough at first...
【UT Otome】Wait a sec— my brother fell for my girlfriend?!
*OOC disclaimer.
*Pure self-insert otome work. The otome fics I write later will use "□□" "□□" to represent you, you can fill in your own nickname. I don't like substitutes like "y/n" or other self-referential labels. If you want to comment, use "I" directly. All content that violates otome rules is strictly forbidden. Shippers who ship the two skeletons together are not allowed to sneak in, and multishippers who ship both skeletons and the self-insert must hide their attributes before reading. I will block anyone who posts targeted remarks immediately.
*I haven't written a story in ages. The last time I wrote something was back in elementary school. I'm not super confident about nailing the characters' personalities, so you might feel the vibe is off halfway through. If you can't stand that, please leave by clicking the back button at the top left before reading further.
*Submissions are actually open (?). You can request any character you want me to draw or write, but simple requests get priority. Complex ones will only be made after my art and writing skills improve, if anyone sends in requests XD.
*This is a Sans and Papyrus sandwich otome story, set under the premise that you are already dating Sans. Before you got together, the three of you (you, Sans, Papyrus) were really good friends. There are three perspectives: Sans, Papyrus, and you. All dialogues are kept in English directly, it just feels weird to write them in Chinese, and I already added the translations in the original post anyway. This is basically a small follow-up or bonus chapter for the long fic I was brainstorming before. The general background of that long story was in my rant post yesterday. I don't know if anyone wants to read it, but if you do, I'll work out the plot later. You can also share your ideas with me. Honestly, I really hope someone can brainstorm the plot with me, my own imagination is running dry…
If that's all fine, let's get started.
*Sans found out something absolutely bone-rattling shocking today (well, technically he's the only one who's shocked). This story started a few weeks back.
*That day, Sans was slacking off at his hot dog stand like usual. He didn't call it slacking though— he said he was doing "bone-duty" relaxation training. Before he could doze off, he heard his brother's booming voice from far away: "SANS——!!!" Sans slowly lifted himself up, watching the seasoning bottles shake from that yell. He thought if Papyrus shouted any louder, the bottles would roll right off the counter by themselves.
*Sans watched his brother storm over fast, with two faint blushes on his cheekbones and a nervous look on his face. Sans raised a brow bone and asked: "you good, buddy?" When Sans asked that, Papyrus got even more nervous and spoke super fast: "NO! NOTHING HAPPENED AT ALL! THE GREAT PAPYRUS HAS ENCOUNTERED NO TROUBLE!" Sans knew his brother way too well, he could tell for a fact that something definitely went down. He half-squinted one eye socket, his tone lazy and slow: "heh, you for real? nothin' at all, bro?" Papyrus knew he could never hide anything from Sans, so he sighed, still a little flustered: "O-OKAY FINE! THE GREAT PAPYRUS DID RUN INTO A LITTLE SITUATION, BUT IT’S BARELY EVEN ANYTHING! AHEM— IT’S JUST… WHEN I’M AROUND THIS CERTAIN SOMEONE, MY CHEST GETS ALL WEIRD, AND ACCIDENTALLY BRUSHING AGAINST THEM FEELS TOTALLY DIFFERENT THAN NORMAL! WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?! THE GREAT PAPYRUS ISN’T SUPPOSED TO GET STUCK ON SILLY LITTLE THINGS LIKE THIS!" After he finished talking, his cheekbones turned even redder. Sans realized something was off— his little brother had a crush on someone? Whoa, that caught him completely off-"bone"! Sans spread his hands and said to Papyrus: "alright pal, from where i'm standing? you've totally got a crush on them." Papyrus froze for a second, then snapped back to his senses: "WHAT?! ME? THE GREAT PAPYRUS? IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE? NYEH… NO NO NO! THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE?!" Right after that, Papyrus ran away from the spot— no, he didn't just run, he literally flew off.
*Sans watched his brother bolt away like he was running for his life. He shook his head, thinking his little brother was way too shy, so he decided to vet this mystery person for him and give him a little push.
*For the next few days, Sans snuck around during work hours to spy on his brother. It was definitely not slacking off, nope. Every time he checked, you were right by Papyrus's side. Sans thought that was totally normal, since you were the one who always looked after his brother when he was too busy to do it himself. But he was about to eat his words later.
*After days of observation, he still hadn't seen the special someone Papyrus talked about. But he noticed that every time you were around, Papyrus acted super weird, nothing like his usual self, and you didn't even notice it. Sans double checked, every single one of Papyrus's weird little behaviors matched exactly what he had described earlier.
*Sans had a bad hunch, but he didn't dare confirm it. His little brother's crush might just be his own partner— you. Heh, stuck between his own brother and his own lover, Sans was torn. Should he tell you straight up that his brother had a crush on you? Or should he tell Papyrus that he already knew who the crush was? Sans had no clue. He decided to take a nap. He must not have slacked off enough lately, right? Right?
*Papyrus had no idea how to tell Sans that he might have fallen for Sans's own partner— you. He also had no clue how to face you anymore.
*Papyrus came to find you like usual, asking you to help him improve his puzzles. You two met through Sans, and all three of you were really good friends back then. Papyrus adored you, of course! Platonically. You were the one who hung out with him when Sans was busy. You were willing to try his spaghetti, and when you said it tasted amazing, he was over the moon, even though your face looked a little off that day. Later you suggested he could make his spaghetti even better, and that's how your cooking training sessions started (?). He still remembers the look on your face when he cranked the stove to max heat, and his cooking skills got way better after that.
*Papyrus thought back to the day you and Sans got together. He was so happy for the two of you, but his chest felt weird for a second, and he brushed that feeling off. He thought the vibe between you and him changed a little after you started dating Sans, but it also felt exactly the same.
*Lost in his thoughts, Papyrus found you, ran over and said in his super passionate tone: "HELLO HUMAN! THE GREAT PAPYRUS INVITES YOU TO JOIN HIM IN IMPROVING THIS MAGNIFICENT, YET SLIGHTLY FLAWED PUZZLE!" He struck his signature pose and looked at you. You looked up at the running Papyrus and said: "Oh! Hello Papy! You've made a new puzzle again? Alright! Let's go!" Then you walked back to his house together.
*When you two were editing the puzzle, you sat really close. Papyrus had no idea why his chest felt all weird, and the air suddenly felt way hotter than when you hang out at Grillby's. (Wait, is it actually that hot at Grillby's? Never mind, it's just a headcanon now.) He ignored the feeling and kept working on the puzzle. A while later, Papyrus handed you the finished puzzle. When you reached out to take it, your hands accidentally brushed. He jolted like he got electrocuted, let go, and the puzzle fell to the floor. You picked it up and noticed Papyrus looked really off. Since you cared about your boyfriend's little brother, you asked: "Uh, Papy? Your face is so red, are you feeling unwell?" You reached out to touch his cheekbone, wondering if skeletons could even get sick. But Papyrus stepped back quickly, panicking: "NO! THE GREAT PAPYRUS FEELS NO DISCOMFORT AT ALL! HE CERTAINLY IS NOT SICK, NYEH HEH HEH! …UH, THE GREAT PAPYRUS SUDDENLY REMEMBERS THERE IS A SUPER IMPORTANT MATTER WAITING FOR HIM TO SOLVE RIGHT AWAY!!" Right after that, he ran out in a total panic— no, he smashed through the window and flew out. You watched the whole scene unfold: "Alright…? Hope Papyrus is okay…"
*After he flew out the window, Papyrus calmed down just a tiny little bit. He had no idea what was wrong with him. He thought about how he just ran off on you out of nowhere, you must be confused and hurt right now (probably, hh). Oh no, he was such a terrible friend. He decided he had to apologize to you later. But first, he had to find Sans and figure out what this feeling, this whole mess in his chest was.
*Papyrus ran away. The Great Papyrus chose to escape. He heard Sans say this meant he had a crush on you, he denied it and ran off. No way, how could he have those feelings for you? You were Sans's partner. He was never supposed to fall for you, you two were just good friends. Was he even allowed to feel this way about a friend? But he loved spending time with you, whether you two were fixing puzzles, watching you taste his spaghetti, or just hanging out doing nothing. Oh no… what was he supposed to do? How was the Great Papyrus supposed to face you and Sans now?
*You noticed your boyfriend and your good friend had been acting super weird these days. Dating a skeleton and being friends with monsters was already weird enough, but their behavior was way more off than usual, you couldn't even put it into words.
*That day you had some free time, so you went to find Sans. You walked to his usual hot dog stand, and saw the skeleton napping there, loud "Z" marks popping out of his head to show he was fast asleep. You knocked on the counter: "Knock knock." A lazy voice mumbled: "who’s there?" "Olive." "olive who?" "Olive you." "heh, kiddo, love ya too." (Oh my that's so cringey, whatever, I don't care.) Sans handed you a hot dog, or was it a hot cat? You were munching on it when you heard Sans speak: "heh, how about a little bone-date with me once I wrap up the stall?" You were shocked. This lazy skeleton couldn't even be bothered to pick up his own socks, and he was asking you out on a date? You two had gone on dates before, but that one failed date was so awkward that you both agreed to never, ever mention it again. You thought about it and asked: "A date? Are you serious, Sans? It's not like I'm totally against it, but can I ask the reason?" "nope." Wow, that was super blunt, but you definitely saw him look away to avoid your eyes.
*Papyrus came to find you to help him finish the puzzle. You two were at his house working on it, dead silent. Too quiet— wait, that's not right. Normally Papy would be rambling nonstop about edits while he worked, and he would chat with you every two minutes. Why was he so quiet today, it didn't even feel like him. Then Papyrus handed you the puzzle, your hands brushed again, and he flinched and dropped it immediately. You thought that was weird, he never reacted like that even when you hugged him before. You picked up the puzzle to hand it back to him, and saw his face was bright red. You said "Are you ok?" and reached out to check if he was sick, but he dodged your hand like he just saw something terrifying. He rambled a whole bunch of excuses and then smashed through the window and left. Alright… hope he's okay, and rest in peace to that window (hands folded in prayer).
*You noticed after that incident, Papyrus was intentionally avoiding you. You didn't want to assume the worst, but he was so obvious about it! You waved at him on the street, he saw you, then immediately turned around and walked the other way. You cornered him once and wouldn't let him leave, and he made up a dumb excuse: "UH— THE TRAFFIC NEEDS THE GREAT PAPYRUS TO TAKE CHARGE OF IT! NYEH HEH HEH… AHEM! I MUST GO RIGHT NOW! IT IS TOTALLY A SUPER URGENT EMERGENCY!" But Undyne was the one in charge of traffic, right? Well, she makes it way more chaotic, but that excuse was so obviously fake. And Sans? He was way more "hardworking" than before— well, he just spent way more time with you than usual. You were happy he wanted to hang out with you more, but it was so out of character. Also, the two brothers barely talked to each other these days. Did they fight? That didn't make sense, they still greeted each other when they met, but the vibe between them was super awkward.
*You were 100% sure those two were hiding something from you. You had no idea what it was, but you figured they would tell you when the time was right. Probably.
SKELLIES with a gamer/streamer s/o, and ggyulp, as a streamer that is extremely popular, would resort to hiding their s/o because of extreme backlash, you know how parasocial fans can get. but when the s/o’s skelly boyfriend gets revealed… the fanbase is surprisingly supportive of them, like shipedits and EVERYTHING

How the skeletons would treat the Reader/MC with depression.

Reader/MC's depression in this scenario is the apathetic kind. Something along the lines of "If I were to die, that would be okay with me". Doesn't purposefully seek harm but if it comes for them, well, what can you do than just accept it in the end. Needs recovery from being social. And blames themselves for feeling the way that they do, unable to fix it. Takes place before the human intervention, around chapter 18. Not canon to the main story.
- Notices pretty quickly as Papyrus has been voicing his… exasperation with your perceived laziness.
- Confronts you about it but does it softly with no judgement. He might have been there himself at one point after all.
- Doesn't tell the others, not even his brother if you want to keep it undewraps but might say something is ailing you to take away any pressure that the others might cause.
- A few of his fellow skeletons have tried to ask further questions but he kept his mouth shut. Only telling them what you had allowed to disclose.
- Makes sure you're not alone for long periods of time. That task is particularly not hard with how all of them competes for your attention.
- Knows that you do need some downtime from everyone and tells the others to keep their distance for a few days when he notices the exhausted glint in your eyes. Will occasionally check up on you, just to soothe his own worries. Is that selfish of him? Yes. He's aware.
"Hey, Sweetheart. How are you feeling?" He greeted, opening your bedroom door to enter. He was doing his check in and he was bringing you some refreshments.
"I'm fine" That's what you usually replied when the day treated you a little worse than normal. Not leaving your bedroom for hours were also quite telling of how you felt. Just like today. Yet, you kept saying you're fine when you weren't. It frustrated him, it really did but he couldn't blame you. Because it wasn't an easy fix. There wasn't a cure for this. Just slow progress.
"Right. So… I might have made something" He said, putting the tray with a teapot, two cups and a small bowl of chocolate mousse made by Papyrus onto your bedside table. His brother had gotten less strict as of late with the sweeter things in life. His brother was trying to make you happy by giving in to your sweet tooth.
"The tea?" Oh. Yes. He had been a little too vague with that one. He just didn't know how to gently breach the topic of medication for your… ailment. He had been going through medicinal books within his study to find what herbs and plants could help. Getting Bones's cooperation to obtain them had been easy when he explained it was to make you feel better.
"Well, yes, that too but I'm talking about this" He picked up the small pill from the tray. Presenting it to you by holding it in-between his thumb and pointer phalange. You looked at it with a sharp focus before your eyes drifted somewhere else. You were appraising it.
"…Medicine for…?" You held out your palm and he put the pill in your hand. He simply nodded before proceeding to pour some tea into the cups.
"It is. It's slow acting but maybe if you took it for awhile… it'll lessen your symptoms" He explained, putting the teapot down. You looked long and hard at the pill within your grasp. Before your expression warped into grief? Guilt? Shame? Whatever it was, he didn't like it.
"Has it become such an issue? I can't… help it. I'm trying. I really am" Ah, fuck. He wasn't helping your situation with this. Not at all. He began to feel the panic within his bones begin to rise. He hadn't meant to say your own efforts hadn't been enough!
"What? No! Sweetheart-…" He clicked his teeth shut to stop him from becoming a blabbering fool. Oh stars. This is not going in the direction he wanted. He took a deep breath, getting his thoughts in order. You waited patiently for him as he did, thank the stars.
"No. I made it to help you lessen the heavy weight, not to take it away. I'm afraid you'll have to do the heavy lifting yourself unfortunately" He wasn't trying to fix you. To force you to change. He wanted you to get better. Feel better. It was clear you weren't feeling all that good lately.
"I just want it to make it easier for you, Sweetheart. That's all" He wanted that pill to uplift you, to aid you, to shield you and to give your brain chemicals a boost. "It'll help?" He nodded once again.
"Hopefully" He replied. He hadn't been able to test it out on… anyone. Of course, he would keep a tight eye light on you. But the plants used weren't toxic. It could cause side effects but not any severe harm. Unless your body reacted badly to it. Hence keeping a close eye light on you. With that, you picked up a cup and downed the pill he had given you. Your face did a small "yuck" expression. He found it endearing. Medicine didn't taste good, did it?
"At least it's not a potion. Still bitter though" You noted playfully. Your lips upturned into a small little smile. "Some people enjoy the bitter taste" He countered but you didn't seem convinced. At all.
"You can't even taste anything so your opinion is annulled" Fair enough. He couldn't argue with that so he simply shrugged with a small amused chuckle. His smile finally relaxing. You were accepting his help. "Thank you, Teacup" You spoke as you offered him the other cup.
"Of course, Sweetheart" He took it within his hold and you gestured towards your bedside edge. He bashfully took a seat. Careful not to spill anything as he did. You gently clinked your cup against his, a gentle and appreciative smile upon your lips before it got obscured by your cup. He brought his own up towards his teeth and… yep. Tasted like nothing. Though pleasantly warm. He supposed this will be the place you and him had your tea sessions until you got better.
And if you wanted this to be permanent? He had no arguments.
- Is annoyed by your laziness at first. It's like you're doing this on purpose just to mess with him.
- Forces you to get up, dress yourself and out from your bedroom. Laying in bed all day was not good for you!
- Takes you outside of Death's Cradle to soak up some sun even when you resist. Humans needed that to keep healthy!
- Regrets his actions when your behaviour becomes less… energetic. When your smiles don't reach your eyes like they used to, like it was only for show. And then you stopped wanting to go on any adventures… No shenanigans whatsoever. The thing that broke the last straw for him is when you stopped eating. Only nibbling at the food he had made for you.
- Your smiles became less frequent. Your teasing stopped and you became more… fatigued.
- When his brother told him and the others about your condition, guilt had embedded itself inside his bones. He had been the cause of this, hadn't he?
- He wanted to heal whatever this ailment you had contracted however, he couldn't. His magic didn't heal you like it would with normal humans. He absolutely loathed his inability to make your wounds, injury and illness go away.
- After realizing forcing you out of your bed did more harm than good, he stopped pestering you about it. Allowing you to come out when you felt ready to tackle the day… or not. Those days were… worrying.
- On those days, he clenched his teeth and made you very sweet desserts. Unhealthy desserts. Very unhealthy. But if they gave you just a snivel of joy, then so be it.
- He still stands guard at your door even when you told him he didn't have to. He felt more comfortable knowing you were not far away, safe and sound and that if you needed anything, he was there to provide aid.
"AH, STARLIGHT. IS THERE ANYTHING YOU NEED?" He had noticed the door opening before you stepped outside of your bedroom. You looked at him, as if you had been searching specifically for him.
"Something has been on my mind lately and it's bothering me" Oh. That's not good. Pesky thoughts should be eliminated.
"CARE TO ELABORATE?" And he would like to do that. If you would tell him what it is that is bothering you so. "I never got to solve your puzzles. I only could do one" He was stunned for only a moment.
"…YOU WANT TO TRY ONCE AGAIN?" He inquired in a rather, well, puzzled manner! Ugh. You would love that pun. Would it make you smile? If he… made one? Maybe if it did he could set aside his pride and do some clever wordplay.
"Yes" You confirmed that you indeed wanted to try and weasel through his contraptions. Why? To prove you were worthy? Smart? You already were. Those puzzles were used to slow down raiders and unwanted company.
"YOU ARE AWARE OF THE CONSEQUENCES IF YOU FAIL?" If you didn't pass, you would be hung upside down by your foot.
"That's the fun part" He looked at you. Again, stunned silence for a few seconds.
"YOU FOUND IT FUN…?" He parroted in disbelief. Suppose as long as you had fun, it didn't matter as to why. He would be there to make sure you didn't find yourself in too much trouble.
"ALRIGHT, LET US-…" He froze when he realized a key detail. "YOU ARE IN YOUR NIGHTGOWN" You weren't dressed for this activity!
"And? It's fine" It was… decent enough. If you were simply going on a stroll. Still, it felt a bit naughty! He couldn't say anything about it in case you… stopped going outside again. He would not risk it. He rather you be in your nightgown all day than for you to shut yourself in. However, this scenario was different!
"IT IS NOT-… IF YOU FAIL, YOU WILL BE EXPOSED" He informed you that your choice of attire would put you in a situation where you would be highly vulnerable dressed like that. You looked down, examining yourself.
"Oh" You sounded out. Thank the stars he had noticed before he had began to escort you to the 2nd level. You frowned before speaking. "You expect me to fail?" His response was immediate.
"YES!" Until he realized his answer could discourage you from… having fun. "NO, I-… I DO NOT WANT TO RISK IT!" He course corrected. Your frown easing as you gave out a hum.
"What if I do? Makes it more thrilling" What!? No! For who!? You or him!? Because it would be very… spine tingling to watch your every step, to know that at any time… you could take a wrong turn and-! No! Stop with these unholy thoughts!
"STARLIGHT, PLEASE… DRESS YOURSELF APPROPRIATELY" He pleaded, afraid that if you did not, he would be unable to get you down. He would not risk cutting you instead of the rope with his eye lights dimmed!
"You don't mind if I take a quick bath then?" Gracious no, please, if that's what it would take for you to change into clothes that would not expose yourself, he would gladly wait while you bathed.
"NO, TAKE YOUR TIME. I WILL BE HERE FOR WHEN YOU ARE READY. I ALWAYS WILL BE" He didn't want you to rush. Taking care of ones self is important to do properly! Whenever one is able…
"You are even sweeter than the desserts you make, my overly sweet Paladin" You said with such a sly grin before stepping back inside, leaving him with an orange flush on his bone cheeks.
He felt relieved. You were teasing him again. A very good sign. Were you feeling better? He certainly hoped so.
- Notices your sudden absence around Death's Cradle.
- At first, believes you have gone adventuring again. However, comes to learn the truth from his brother. Then elaborated by Sans.
- He rather you have gone adventuring as this affliction of yours were affecting you immensely.
- Offers to go on an adventure with you but the moment you decline, he couldn't hide his disbelief. When you explained you were just too tired, his worry rose to such high levels that he didn't know possible.
- Unable to change your sheets as often due to your lack of wanting to move or go outside. He didn't want to intrude.
- He finds out you're more likely to want to change clothes if they're easily put on. Like your nightgowns. Makes sure to have one at the ready at the edge of your bed everyday.
"Might I Ask What That Sigh Was For, Precious?" He asked while putting a newly washed nightgown on your dresser, catching the low sound of air exhaling from your mouth.
"I need to take a bath" Ah. A task you did not like as it took a lot of your energy. Energy you didn't have much left of. He stepped towards your bedside, putting hands behind his back as he stood upright confidently.
"If You Would Like… I Can Offer My Service" He could make this task much easier on you. If you'd let him, you wouldn't even need to lift a single finger.
"Huh? You want to what?" You sounded and looked confused and a little embarrassed. Oh. How naughty. Perhaps he should be more specific. Although… He could offer those kinds of services too. If you ever desired such of him.
"You Seem Exhausted. I Can Help You Bathe" He stated once again. Your lips formed an O at his corrected statement. You took a moment to process before a frown appeared. Had he overstepped?
"You don't have to do all that. You're busy as it is" Him? Hardly. He just made himself seem so. To impress you. Suppose it was working against him this time.
"You Are Top Priority And I Want To Do More For You, Precious" He would always place you first if it was between you and his tasks here at Death's Cradle.
"Really, it's fine" Stubborn. That is what you are. But he wasn't going to relent. He straightened his posture. "Frankly, I Insist" He confidently stood his ground.
"Have I ever told you that you're a workaholic?" Was your reply to his brazen commitment to aid you in your needed task. His smile sharpened.
"I Am Aware. However, I Do Not Consider Taking Care Of You To Be Any Kind Of Work" Even if it had been, he loved work. A workaholic. Such a fine title to bestow upon him.
"Oh? What do you consider it as? Pleasure?" You countered with a sly little smile. What was this? That reaction… Were you trying to fish for something? A clue? About his true feelings? Well then. He would give you an answer. "Perhaps I Do" Truth. Hidden in plain sight.
"So you have ulterior motives with offering your bathing service?" What!? Absolutely not! It was solely to help you retain your already low energy! Not so he could see that beautiful nude body of-!
"No! I Do Not!" He stated, looking away from you as he felt his bone cheeks light up in a dim violet hue.
"You're averting your eye lights from me" You pointed out with quite the mirthful tone of voice. Ugh, yes, he knows. You had managed to fluster him. He hadn't had those thoughts until you aggravated them. He steeled himself to put his eye lights back onto you before clearing his non existent throat.
"Ahem! I Have No Such Ill Intentions With My Offer" However, his primary goal was to lessen your energy usage within your body, nothing else untoward. You seemed to think about his offer.
"Then you wouldn't mind helping with my hair and back? I can take the rest from there" He grinned, fangs as sharp as they could be. That's what he liked to hear.
"Of Course Not" He could do that and much more. And just as if you had read that very thought inside his skull, you spoke.
"Would it be too much to ask for you to change the sheets too?" He became utterly ecstatic. This is what he had wanted. For you to rely on him in your time of need. He stepped closer to your bedside, grabbing your hand in his gloved one before placing a peck on your knuckles. His gaze interlocked with yours as he did… until you looked away while he still had his teeth against your knuckles. Embarrassed, were we? Good.
"No, It Would Be My Pleasure" He said, lowering your hand slightly before guiding you out of the bed. Your bare feet touched the floor as you gazed silently into his eye lights.
"Thank you, Casanova" You finally spoke before you leaned down and-!
"Once you hear the water stop running, you can join me in the bathroom" Your hand slipped away from his as he was stunned by the kiss you had given the top of his skull. Stars, he wanted more of those.
"As You Command, My Precious" He managed to utter out, watching you smile softly yet bashfully at him as you entered the bathroom. Not long after, he heard the water start flowing. Moments went by before it stopped completely. You were ready for him. He slipped his gloves off and neatly put them away.
- Immediately knows something is wrong by your absence turning more frequent.
- Goes to investigate, silently within the shadows as to not disturb you. He knows he said he wouldn't do that but this seemed… serious enough.
- And serious it was. You hardly ever wanted to leave your bedroom and when you did, it was forced. Demanded. It made him want to walk out from the shadows and give whoever was bothering you a nice little… warning.
- He noticed the mask you put on. The smiles that were only done to not cause any suspicions. The tired eyes, lacking any motivation yet forcing yourself to do whatever the others wanted.
- He notified his brother but told him to keep it on the down low. He doesn't know what you would do knowing that he knew your behaviour had been a façade. Especially if everyone knew.
- Sans eventually did say something was ailing you but didn't go into too much detail.
- He brought you things from the village, mostly chocolate and desserts. A few trinkets. You did love to gather things, after all. You always genuinely smiled when he did, adding them to your nifty spacial storage.
"Heya, Darlin'-" He announced his presence but as he did, you let out a quiet scared noise, making you drop the book you had been holding onto. Your eyes zero'd onto him. Ah. He had accidentally scared you. Although, that noise and expression… heh. He would keep that thought to himself.
"Rus! Didn't we agree for you not to come into my room and lurk around like that?" You scolded, quickly vanishing the book from his sight. You were so… secretive about them. Too bad he had already read the titles of some, heh.
"We did…" He sheepishly admitted. He had not upheld that agreement. As much as he felt guilt, the need to know you were okay had been stronger.
"I didn't break my promise, so why?" Right. He should explain why he had invaded your privacy and spooked you like that since he could have used the door. There was, however, a good reason for him not to.
"Papyrus has gotten let strict with candy but if I were to let him see what I was carryin' this time around, I would've gotten a very long scoldin' and most likely a smack" He held up the flask he had brought you before stepping close to your bedside to hand you the bottle. You took it and looked it over, quickly realizing what he had gotten you.
"Mead? You got me an entire bottle of alcohol?" He did. He had first asked you to join him at the tavern in Flintlock as you had definitely enjoyed visiting that establishment but you had rejected his offer.
"Mhm. Since ya didn't want to go to the village tavern, I thought to bring it to ya instead" So this was the solution he had thought to do. You could enjoy some good mead inside your bedroom while sitting in that comfy bed of yours. However, you held the flask back towards him.
"I can't accept this" Your words made him feel… rejected? Well, you weren't rejecting him but the gift he has brought.
"Oh?" He took the flask from you. Accepting that you didn't want it. But he wanted to know why.
"I'm… afraid I'll actually turn into an alcoholic" Right. Yes. That. Addiction. You remembered his worry back then? And you were trying not to become one because of it? Eh…
"Hmm. One or two sips can't hurt" He used your logic against you. You furrowed your brows at that.
"That's odd, coming from you" It was, wasn't it? He simply smiled, not able to reply to that. He had been worried about your alcohol intake and here he now was, offering you the same thing he told you to be careful about.
"Are you trying to cheer me up? Or get me drunk?" Of course he knew the possibility of you becoming such had been obvious to him. But he would have stopped you the moment he noticed you were becoming too abbreviated. He didn't want you to suffer a blackout. He had seen a lot of those in the taverns. Not a great sight. He's sure the day after wasn't that great either… Actually, this had been a bad idea. He just now realized.
"The first one" He had just wanted to make you happy. He wanted to see those smiles again. But if it would cost you a potential good day… perhaps he should find something else.
"Okay. Alright. Give me the bottle back" You gestured towards the bottle in his hands and without thinking much about it, he automatically handed it to you. Uh oh. He should have probably given it a thought before he did that. His body just naturally took your command and executed it.
"If I become an alcoholic, I'll blame you" You said, pulling the cork off the bottle and it let out a satisfying pop. Guess there was no going back.
"I'll stop ya before ya become one" He promised and with that, you sealed it with a sip.
"Can you? I'm pretty stubborn" Oh? He already knew that. But he would stop you from falling into addiction, If he had to be a bit forceful, then so be it. He had to. Even if you ended up hating him in the end.
"Ya have m'word, Darlin'" He had given you this flask and it would now be his responsibility. Your smile widened and the skin around your eyes crinkled. That's it. That's the smile he had sorely missed. He could feel the magic in his bones turn almost fuzzy.
"Care to have a drink to that?" You once again held it up to him, tilting the upper end towards him. He beamed at that. Your lips had been on that bottle… An indirect kiss. He would never say no to that, heh.
"Absolutely" He took the flask from you and took a swig of it. Yep. Sweet but with a bite. Just like you. You patted a spot on the mattress and he gave you a big fanged smile while he seated himself in front of you. He handed you the bottle back. You happily took another sip.
He sincerely hoped this would be able to help you relax in the end.
- Gets suspicious when you start to reject his hugs. Sidestepping away from his attempts to embrace you. Even when he managed to latch onto you, you would give him one pat on his skull and that's it.
- Pouts whenever you reject his hugs, even making his eye lights bigger. Which made you relent. Until you didn't anymore. Liked you had become resistant.
- He didn't know he could get withdrawals from hugs. Apparently he could as he kept craving your affection. Which made him actively seek you out.
- It got harder and harder to encounter you. Until he found out why. You were locking yourself inside your bedroom all day! Well, if that's the length you would go to so you could avoid his affection… then he would just have to invade your space!
- The more he did so however, you became… less respondent to him and even his brother. Which made him finally back off. Something seemed… wrong.
- Soon after, Sans told everyone about your… circumstance. You had an affliction. Made sense with how Skóll and Hati had reacted towards you lately. With their ears down and sniffing you before curling around you. Trapping you within their fur. They did it every time you came to visit the item vault. Only allowing him to get near you when you permitted him to.
"You Seem Cozy In Your Fluffy Prison" He noted. You had come to visit while his brother was taking a visit to Sans. He himself was making sure the coin were in place and that everything was in order. Which it usually was. Except for the items. Or well, at least it hadn't been for awhile. Now? His brother had managed to organise them all due to your lack of wandering spirit as he called it. He liked a place to be somewhat tidy but this… felt unnatural.
"What can I say? I'm a smooth criminal" Oh? He wonders what crime you had committed to earn yourself such a… position. What a troublemaker. Just like himself, mwheh.
"And Your Punishment Is To Pet Your Jailors?" The ones who kept you trapped were quite demanding of your affection. Poking their snouts at you until both of yours hand were occupied.
"It's a tough sentence but much deserved, I fear" You sighed. Half heartedly. You liked your little fluffy prison, didn't you?
"I'd Say It's A Rather Light Sentence…" He murmured loud enough for you to hear. On purpose of course.
"Oh? And what would you think is a deserving punishment?" You took the bait. He had to reign in his grin as to not give anything away.
"Hmm… Hard To Say… But I Have An Idea If You're Interested" He smiled, swaying back and forth on the balls of his heels. You squinted at him in suspicion.
"Go on" Hook, line and sinker. He had piqued your interest.
"A Rematch Of Our Race. If You Win, I'll Break You Free Whenever You Feel Like It" He could command your jailors to move or dismiss them if they didn't listen.
"And if you win?" Hm. If he won… He could demand some affection of his own… but you would be less likely to accept the race if you didn't want to risk that outcome.
"I Get To Be Your Third Jailor! You Can Stay Inside Of Your Fluffy Prison While I Keep A Close Eye Light On You, You Criminal" At that, you rose up from the seating position you had been in. Both of his wolves lowly whimpered at the loss of your contact. Hm. He and his wolves had a lot in common, mwheh.
"I think this justice system needs an overhaul when the real criminal is free and roaming about" You said, stepping up towards him and stopping rather close. And all of a sudden…
"Don't you think so, Sweets?" You cupped his bone cheeks. His eye lights dilated by the sheer ecstasy he was feeling by having your affection back for so long. He nuzzled into one of your hands.
"Mwheh…" He couldn't help but let out a small yet dreamy laugh. Oh, he had craved this. Your touch, so pleasant. So sweet. Very sweet. If he only could reach those lips of yours to taste it…
"Now, ready to taste the dust?" Hm? Huh? Oh! The race! "Not If I Win" He grinned up at you with a challenging glint in his eye lights. You definitely noticed as you gained this fierce yet playful expression.
"Is that so?" You asked before you abruptly flicked his nasal ridge! You went up towards Sköll who immediately let you onto his back.
"Then you better catch up, slowpoke" You said, sitting on top of Sköll before you darted out of the item vault, the double doors slamming open as you sped out. And Hati? Yawned before getting up.
"You're Both Against Me, Aren't You?" He watched Hati stretch, as if to say there was no rush. Hati gave off a dismissive huff before slowly lowering himself so he could get on. Oh well. It didn't matter if he won or lost, as long as you had fun.
- Notices you visit the item vault just to fall asleep on the couch at times. He didn't mind but he found it… odd. Are you not getting enough sleep?
- Doesn't fuzz about your naps and will let you sleep. Neither will his brother, allowing you to snooze the day away in the item vault.
- Your beloved snake had grown big enough to wrap itself around your torso whenever you took those naps. Preventing him from sneaking in any secretive corner kisses unless he wanted his face bitten off. He, however could give your locks of hair a little tussle or two. His brother of course indulged in that activity as well.
- Asked if you were okay one day after you had woken up from a nap and when you answered, he could sense you were lying. You had said you were fine, just a bit groggy. You weren't fine.
- Sans confirmed it by telling everyone you were dealing with something… unorthodox. Which explains your unusual behaviour as of late. It also explained his brother's wolves protectiveness over you.
- Your visits became less frequent as you didn't leave your bedroom for some time periodically. It seemed to be a constant battle of wanting to spend time with them but also needing rest for days afterwards. It must have been exhausting for you.
- Whenever you did end up napping in the item vault, if his brother was absent for whatever reason… He began to talk to you while you slept. It was therapeutic.
"Honey, why won't you tell me what's ailing you?" He quietly spoke while he watched you slumber away on the couch. Jördmun was snuggly wrapped around your midsection and resting its head on top of your chest. He stepped closer to you. Alerting the snake to his presence. Those dark cyan eye lights watched him warily.
"I would do anything to make you feel better. So why aren't you tellin' me?" He loomed above you. No answer. You couldn't. You were wholeheartedly unaware. He crouched down, sliding his hand into yours carefully. Jördmun seemed to accept it well enough. "I love you so much, Honey… but you don't know that" He wanted to tell you. So badly.
"Not yet" But he couldn't. It could cause you more stress or anguish. He wouldn't say anything until he felt like it was the right time.
"It pains me that you don't know. Is it the same for you too?" He knew you were hiding a few secrets of your own. He had pried once and he regretted it instantly. It was something not meant for him to know if you weren't ready to tell him. Both that and this. He couldn't help himself as he leaned closer to your face. His skull's teeth ghosting over the corner of your lips. And when he was about to press them against it, a loud and threatening hiss sounded out. He swiftly backed off.
"Wah-?" You opened your eyes in alarm, your upper body shooting up. Your bleary eyes looked around only for a moment before they locked onto him.
"H-Hey, Honey. Just checking in on you. Sorry I woke you up in doin' so" He held his hands up to show you he wasn't trying to do anything… Well, not now that you were awake, anyhow.
"Ugh" You scowled, laying down again as you began to rub at your eyes. Ah. He had interrupted your precious slumber.
"I know, I'm really sorry" He apologized again. To save himself from your wrath. However, your next words wasn't that of anger, not completely.
"It's okay…" You grumbled. Obviously you weren't happy about it. He stood up straight, watching you on the couch from above.
"Is it?" He tested. He didn't want you to lie. Not to save his feelings. He had woken you up. It was his fault. He could admit that. You are allowed to be angry with him. Especially if you caught his little… kiss he had just given you without your explicit consent.
"I'm annoyed but you didn't meant to wake me up… unless you did?" Absolutely not. He would only wake you if you needed to be awake for something. "No" He replied shaking his head.
"Then it's okay" You concluded. Guess he was forgiven. Thank the stars. You then sat yourself up, slowly. The serpent around you slithering onto your shoulders, still having a grip on your upper body. It gave him quite the glare but no hissing or pouncing for a bite.
"How long have I…?" You asked, your voice still quite deeper and raspier than normal. Must have been a deep slumber. He glanced towards the analog clock on the wall. "A few hours. It's mid-day by now" He notified.
"Mid-day… I've slept all day?" You mumbled, slowly blinking before you quietly groaned.
"My sleeping schedule is absolutely fucked" You put your face in your hands. Obviously, that didn't make you feel great.
"Does it matter?" Did you really have to be up by morning and sleep at night? Why? If you wanted, you could be awake all night. He wouldn't care. The others shouldn't either. At least you weren't… sleeping for days on end. Like you had done when you had gotten seriously injured. You removed your hands and looked up at him from where you sat.
"No? Yes? I don't know… Guess not" Hm. It looks like it did matter to you.
"… The sun is probably still up if you want to go see the sun go down?" He suggested. Humans needed solar light, right? Something about it being good for them. He doesn't remember the reason as to why.
"Eh, why go out to admire the sun when I have my own Sunshine right next to me?" It took him only a few seconds to process your words before his bone cheeks turned yellow. Although, he couldn't help but feel a bit dejected. He kind of did want to watch the sundown with you.
"Unless you really want to go?" Ah. You had noticed his disappointment. Well, he could say no. But that would be a lie. And if he doesn't want you to lie to him, he wasn't going to lie to you.
"With you? I do, yes" He spoke the truth. He could see you debating. Should he speak up? He didn't want to guilt you into saying yes. Before he could even open his mouth, you hummed as if you had already made the decision.
"Sure, okay. If you'll help me up from the couch" You finalized, holding your hand out to him.
"That's an acceptable exchange. I'll even throw in a free massage at the end" He said, accepting your hand into his and with that, he pulled you up from the couch, gently as to not yank on your arm.
"You're so chivalrous, Sunshine" You teased, still holding onto his hand.
"Aren't I always?" He asked with a lazy smile, failing to hide his mirthful tone of voice.
"Are you?" You countered. You were still holding onto his hand. Well, if you liked to hold his hand, he could give you the other one. He grabbed onto your other unoccupied hand.
"Am I?" He grinned, throwing the question right back at you. He could see a flush appearing on your lovely cheeks. You were embarrassed but you didn't try and break his grasp on your wonderful hands.
"Not always" Oh? So you knew he wasn't as innocent as he made himself out to be? To what extent did you realise? Or perhaps you simply didn't mind his hidden affection riddled with ulterior motives.
"Nyeh" He couldn't help but to chuckle. Not denying your statement. You gave his shin a light kick at that and a soft glare that held no force.
Whether or not you were aware he liked being kicked, he would wholeheartedly accept your rough affection.
- Keeping order with time and day to day events is hard and doesn't notice your visits becoming more and more infrequent. At first. It was a slow development until you didn't greet him for multiple days. An unusual gap of you being there and then you're not within his memories.
- His chronic headache worsens the harder he tries to remember the last time you came up from Death's Cradle to greet him. The panicks sets when I realized it was quite awhile ago.
- Asks his brother where you were and his answer left him confused. You were staying inside Death's Cradle. Safe and sound. Yet, you didn't come up to see him or his brother for multiple days. It didn't sound like you.
- Even so, he dutifully protects the entrance from raiders and invaders. To keep you safe.
- His brother tells him you've become just a little tired lately. That you lack your usual spark for adventure. He could tell his brother's was worried even when his facial expressions were stoic. Bones reassured him you were doing okay. Maybe you just needed some rest from adventure? That last one had taken a lot out of you, after all.
- Until you have gotten your spark back, he would defend your peace.
"Chestnut?" He turned around, sensing your presence nearby. And when he did, he locked eyes with you. You made your way towards him, stopping only a few inches away.
"Skull, I've missed seeing your dorky face" His smile widened at that.
"I missed you too" He brought you up and into his arms. One arm under you and another safely holding your back as your own arms wrapped around his shoulders. You brushed your cheek against his before resting your head against the side of his head.
"You seem… less plump" He noted. Your frame was definitely slimmer than he remembers it to be. You were lighter too.
"I'm sorry, my appetite has been lacking as of late…" You haven't eaten? You were starving yourself? Why? You had plenty of food. Did you not like any of it? However, he knew for certain that you would like the dried meat he had on hand. He put you down before snatching a dried meat out from his belt pockets.
"Eat" He said, holding the meat out to you. You looked at it, clearly conflicted.
"I don't-" No, he would have no objections. You would eat. You needed to eat. Or you could-… Not if he could prevent it. And he could and will. "Please" He inched it closer to you.
"I'll just end up nibbling on it" Wouldn't matter how long it took you to eat it. As long as you ate something.
"Better than nothing" He said, wiggling the piece in his hands to entice you. Which made you smile. Your were definitely calling him a dork within your own mind even though you didn't say it out loud for him to hear.
"Fine but only if you let me give you some of my magic" You took the meat from his hand before he was able to respond. But he managed to speak before you could take a bite.
"No" He refused the deal. You shut your mouth before looking up at him in confusion. "What? No…? Why not?" Your confused expression was… cute. But he had to focus.
"You need magic to get better again" He wouldn't take some so important as that when you were recovering. You made a little oh sound before a few other noises escaped you.
"Ah… Uhm…" You stammered. Were you trying to come up with an argument?
"I don't think any amount of magic will fix what I'm dealing with" Really? His eye light shrunk in suspicion.
"You're not just saying that, are you?" He knew even if you were hurting yourself, you would put him first which he would not allow. You all of a sudden let out an exhale of air. A sigh.
"No. I wish it could, honestly" You looked to be telling the truth… Okay. But he had a condition before allowing you to linder his headache.
"I'll let you use your magic on me if you eat the dried meat completely first" He finalized. He would not accept anything unless that piece of dried meat ended up in your stomach. You looked up at him, then at the meat in your hold then back at him with a slight pout. You huffed.
"Hmph. Fine, you dork" You accepted and bit off a piece of the meat. As you chewed, he could see a glint of enjoyment. You took another bite without much fuss. And another until it was all but gone… Not so grumpy anymore, huh?
"Actually… could I have another one?" Heh. Of course you could. He fetched another piece from his belt pocket and handed it over to you. Scarfing it down just as quickly as the first one. Seems like he hadn't been the only thing you had sorely missed.
"I've eaten two. Happy now?" He is. Extremely happy. "Mhm" He hummed in satisfaction at seeing you eat the food he had provided for you. He felt his bones quietly rumble knowing you were fed.
"Good, now kneel for me" He did as you asked, kneeling down, one of his knee on the ground. You took a step closer, holding your arms out until you could get to his bone cheeks. Moments after, his bones got washed in such affection and warmth. The blanket over his head washed away, making his thoughts more coherent within his mind. It felt so good. It always did.
"Thank you, Chestnut" He thanked you for taking away his pain and the fog. Even with a clear mind, the desire to just pick you up and take you to his nest was almost overwhelming. It could help you to recover. His blankets were so soft and very comfy. You would love it. He knew it in his bones. And you had eaten. A little nap was in order. He grinned while gazing down at you, his hands itching to-
"Don't even think about picking me up" You gave his nose ridge a flick, causing him to be stunned enough for you to step away from his grasp. With that flick, you brought him out of his compulsion. That you had caught onto, unfortunately.
"Hehe…" He couldn't help but laugh. You had sensed his… attack about to happen. A shame. You would have been so comfy in his nest. He stood upright again. Tilting his head at you.
"How could you tell?" He genuinely wanted to know how you could sense that he had wanted to pick you up.
"You go awfully silent while staring at me and then your smile turn dorky. More than usual" Oh. So that had been his tell tale sign? Hm. He doesn't think he would be able to control that. He just gets giddy even thinking about you, after all.
"Can I pick you up?" His inquiry made you arch one of your brows. "No" Your answer sounded final. But he was allowed to try and convince you otherwise, wasn't he?
"Please?" He added. Hopeful that it would change your answer. Unfortunately, he wasn't that lucky.
"Still no but you can hold my hand while you take me to see the budding flowers" You offered your hand to him. You wanted to look at the flowers with him? He could feel his smile widen while looking down at you once again. Stars… you were so-
"You're doing it again. What are you thinking about?" That answer was obvious.
"You. You're pretty" He grinned, accepting your hand into his as you turned quite a nice shade of red. Your grip then tighten around his, your fingers only able to wrap around a few of his phalanges.
"Dork" You said while looking away from him, your cheeks still flushed. Awh, so bashful. You then tugged him with you, towards where you and his brother had planted those flowers.
Perhaps he could get you to eat some more while you were distracted by flowers, hehe.
- Gets suspicious when you stop coming up from Death's Cradle. You would always greet his brother. And him, if you hadn't encountered him yet.
- Goes down to find you. Except you're nowhere to be seen. Not even Delta has seen you around. How troubling.
- Notices Papyrus outside of your bedroom door. Guarding. You were inside?
- Tries to gain entrance but Papyrus is barring him from doing so. Saying you were in need of… rest. Something was wrong. He could sense it. It made him uneasy.
- Sans informed about your… status. An ailment had gotten into your body. It wasn't something he could fix. But it was manageable, it was just a slow process. So he will wait until you're recovered enough to interact.
- Spotted you walking down the halls towards the item vault one day. He decided to keep his distance.
- He noticed your… slimmer stature. Better keep that from his brother. It could cause… issues.
- During your… extended period of rest, he had been producing some vegetables. To try and get you to eat. Giving you a little snack basket. Infused with his magic to keep it fresh so you could take your time with eating it and it still be somewhat fresh… The thought of you consuming his magic infused vegetables… filled him with joy.
"Mossling… How have you been?" He had spotted you while you had been a bit further away, unable to greet you due to the 5 meter radius limitations to his telepathy. The moment you came within range, he immediately did so. You had come outside to enjoy the garden. A bit lackluster still.
"Up and down" Was your response. Not too good of an answer but definitely not the worst.
"Guess you could say I'm more… up these days" Oh! That was good news! Wait a moment… that suspicious pause…!
"Was that a pun?" He's sure his usual expressionless face was giving you quite the disapproving look. However, you just grinned. As if annoying him with clever wordplay gave you immense joy.
"Absolutely, I'm glad you noticed" He exhaled from his nasal cavity. At least you were feeling well enough for japes.
"I wager you are feeling better?" He needed to hear it from your own mouth. "A little" You replied. Hmm. Not good but not bad either.
"Did you enjoy the vegetables?" He was curious. Did you end up eating any?
"I did but…" You started, looking away from in slight guilt. "I… prefer fruit" Oh. He had neglected that as viable healthy option. There was no need to feel such.
"The carrots are all gone though and Papyrus used some vegetables for his cooking" You added, worried he might be offended by your preference of fruit. It did not.
"Fruits…" He spoke out loud using his mind. It kind of just slipped out. An occasional stray thought would end up being said if he wasn't careful at times.
"What would you like?" You began to think. Your eyes looking out towards the dense and thick forest.
"Apples? Raspberries, maybe? Watermelon" He nodded. Apples and raspberries were in abundance. He could even extract the seeds and plant his own. Watermelon would be a bit more difficult. He might have some seeds laying around his bedroom somewhere. He had always had a habit of squirreling away seeds for whenever he needed them.
"That I can do" He confirmed and you gave him such a grateful yet shy smile.
"Oh! Would cherries be an option?" Cherries? Hmm. He hadn't seen them in the wild. Not in the nearby forest. And he doesn't think he had those seeds stowed away unfortunately. He could go and take a look at a later date.
"Hmm… I do not currently possess cherry seeds" He didn't want to promise you anything he was uncertain of.
"Maybe I could get some in the village?" That wasn't such a bad idea. Plus, it might be good for you. To be away from Death's Cradle for a day or two. Going on small adventures. Like you used to do.
"Perhaps but for right now… how about some apples? Or raspberries?" But he didn't want you to go right now. Not since he hasn't seen you in so long. You would forgive his selfish desire to have you stay with him, wouldn't you?
"Raspberries. I don't think I can eat anything more than that" He nodded. He understood food for you were complicated in these trying times.
"Alright, Raspberries it is" He began to take a step, towards a bush he remembers seeing that held your desired berry. Until you tugged at his fur cloak. He stopped and looked down at you with a puzzled expression.
"Wait, could you crouch down for me?" Hm? He could. But what was the reason?
"Yes… but why?" He asked, couching down without any hesitation.
"So I can heal you, stupid" You said, taking a step closer. Ah. Yes. Of course. He should have known.
"Why? I am in no pain" You shouldn't waste any of your magic on him. Especially when you had already found a solution to what caused his pain.
"I want you to eat some with me" Oh. That's why you wanted to give him your magic. He supposed humans were mammals that did tend to eat in flocks. Could that be a reason as to why you are no longer eating as much as you should? Undead skeletons didn't have to eat, after all. They could but not required.
"Even though I do not need to, I would like that" He guided your hands to his bone cheeks. The moment your skin touched bone, he could feel his body trying to… shift. It didn't help him with restraining it when your magic began to wrap around his bone marrow, deep within his bones. He had missed your presence. Your touch. Your warmth. He leaned closer to you, unable to stop his body from doing so. Stars, he just wanted to-
"Do you think your brother would like some too?" You spoke, abruptly stopping your magic from flowing into him by letting your hands fall from his bone cheeks. His body ached at the loss of your affection. He had to catch himself from demanding you continue like a petulant child. So he distracted himself by replying to your question about his brother.
"I am sure he would love to" Skull would never say no. Especially if he got to watch you eat.
"Then let's eat together" He nodded. No objections to that. Although, he and his brother would end up feeding you more than eating any berries themselves.
"That sounds so very wonderful, Mossling" He said, standing upright again. You gave him a smile before you and him went to the bushes to gather the raspberries. The juices of them staining you and his fingers reddish pink after procuring enough of them in a small weaved basket. He then; within your line of sight, took a raspberry before putting it inside his mouth to eat. He hummed, satisfied about their quality and fresh taste. And in turn, you picked one up as well and ate it. That confirmed his suspicion; you would be more inclined to eat if others were as well.
He would make sure to eat with you more frequently and tell the others to do the same.
Imagine trying to kiss Sans, okay both of you decided to try smooching for the first time. Weirdly casual for deciding to do smth like this.
But for some damn reason, you just can't quite bring yourself to close the distence completely.
Butterflies fluttering violently in your guts, your face feels like lava from how hard you're blushing, the corner of your mouth goes upwards uncontrollably as your lips wobbles against your will.
Closing eyes did not help, leave them open certainly did NOT, either. One glimpse of him and all the feelings above worsen at least ten times.
You ended up shoving your burning red face into his shoulder and lets out a muffled scream of emotional turmoil from chickening out.
