MK (Marc Kinchen) is a buddha of house music.The Bumpthumpasaurus loves to rage, but also loves to give respect to those who deserve it. Marc Kinchen hit number 1 on the US Billboard Club music charts in 1993 and 1994, chilled out hard for a while, and now is back in our universe producing some of phattest bangers of the house scene.

Daily Bump: Goldfish

here at Bumpcitypress we love SAX. It's all we talk about, it's all we want, it's all that's on our mind. SAX SAX SAX. Thus when we found out there is a Dj duo with LIVE SAX it blew our minds!

Goldfish is a Dj Band (I know right? who else can call themselves a band of djs?!) from South Africa. They don't just have phat sax drops, THEY ARE PHAT SAX DROPS. The two members, Dom Peters and David Poole, have to be two of the most creative people in the industry. There sound is hard to compare, think sax/funk/house/awesome/jazz/eargasms.

Yah and their life set from Ultra this year was INCREDIBLE. Definitely worth checking out. SAX on SAX on SAX

Daily Bump: Fritz Kalkbrenner

the last few weeks every time the staffers have been griping about stuff we come to one conclusion, we have to move to berlin. watchu know about berlin? besides having the one of the bad ass soccer teams in europe (they won the champions league this year) it's also the underground place for electro. there has been a lot of hype about this berlin place. DJtechtools recently wrote an article called "how to make it in the berlin electro/techno scenes"  which is worth the read.

for me the berlin hype started post hong kong experience, pre-coachella. a austrian friend i had travelle through india with recommended checking out Paul Kalkbrenner. I did, and it was one of the greatest shows of coachella 2013. and then i found out he had a brother. pew pew pew mind blow.

fritz kalkbrenner is chill as fuck, turns out he even makes an appearance in his brothers 2008 movie on the berlin electro scene Berlin Calling.

Daily Bump: Above and Beyond

been on a bit of a trance binge lately, and todays bump are whales in the vast ocean that is trance. in a world were everything in edm is a buildup some vocals and a drop, these guys continue to stick to the sound they patented over 10 years ago and crowds still mob to hear them.

am I getting across just how monolithic of djs these guys are?! I can't go on. I got to just drop it.

Daily Bump: KlangKuenstler

we love the deeps. one of my current favorite producers, KlangKuenstler, is the epitome of emotional deep-- it's hard not to feel something when listening to his work, which often combines orchestral samples and that deep, raw emotion over a steady house beat. check em out.

Daily Bump: Underworld

it was all just a b-side joke. what ever could come of a b-side joke? only one of the greatest songs to ever emerge from realm of electronic dance music.

Underworld, one of the original pioneers of trance music, is truly a band worthy of a bump. they started in the 1980's working with german based Kraftwerk back when Blonde was topping the charts. their track Born Slippy .NUXX wasnt even the original Born Slippy song, it was merely a b-side remix however it became their most recognizable track and for good reason. the hallow kick relentless rhythm and barely audible lyrics drives the listener to scream "MORE MORE MORE".

perhaps this is why the song has been remixed almost every year since 1995, and we keep wanting more. it even got a play at the 2012 summer olympics opening ceremony which was directed by non-other than Underworld.
