Because he was in love with Addie. But Spamton and Addie were planning to run away. So they left and couldn't break and drove off a cliff or something. And in the aftermath he felt so fucking guilty he got absolutely wasted and tried to do his own shock therapy and accidentally killed himself live on TV. I'm yes and-ing your Beetlejuice ideas.

I think Tenna um. Effectively entertains people to Death. Scares them or makes them laugh until their heart gives out. He misses performing SO BAD. I'm assuming he was a weird bug monster in life who kept getting metal enhancements to perform longer. Anyway. Since he died DRAMATICALLY in front of a live studio audience the media tried their best to effectively wipe his name off the face of the earth, right. Now basically nobody remembers him. This also means people do not remember the um. Murder allegations.
Steeples my fingers. Perhaps the Mike trio took over production when Tenna passed and he's a little upset they erased his legacy. One of them is likely Cerise's agent. I say. Chewing on hay like a horse. Mmmmm they want out of their contract since they've gotten sick, although they haven't told anyone. Tenna promises to scare the studio shitless, freeing them of their obligations, but The. Spamtons. Are like wait that man is a murderer. Watch out.
Could be that the car crashed near enough to the studio Spamton and Addie are stuck there, could be that Tenna ordered the wreckage brought back in a frenzy and that's why they're stuck... Cerise promises to fix the car and drive them away from This Horrible Place if they help Cerise out. But alas. Tenna tenna's the whole situation up. As he is objectively much better at scaring people. Given that there's something deeply wrong with him.
Tenna says at first that Cerise will be free to leave once the Mikes are dealt with (so long as he takes Spamton and leaves Addie lmao) but gets a little attached to this freakazoid who cackles at all his evil ass antics. Meanwhile Addie shakes him by the shoulders. Let it go man. I married the man I loved. I loved you, Tenna, but that was then. And this is now. I'm married. And Tenna is like WELL. I WANT TO BE MARRIED TOO. 🤔 Hm.
Other ideas:
- I hope he leaks disgusting black fluid all over the place. Sighs longingly. Spits it up while he talks because his motor got fried when he was electrocuted (to death)
- He's full of bugs. Can see them scurrying around behind his screen when it goes dark or crawling out of the cracks in the glass. Ants primarily but perhaps the occasional centipede. For spice. Mostly bc I want him to be yucky but also as a bonus for Cerise bc they really love bugs ahaha treat. For them. Their Weirdness.
- I think he possesses people by springing his wires out crazy style and jerking them around like puppets, which Spamton especially finds deeply off-putting. Which leads me to my next idea,
- I like to think Spamton broke all his limbs in the crash and now moves horribly. Beyond fucked, the way he moves. Maybe relies a lot on Addie for support which probably shreds his ego massively. Tenna cruelly offers to string him up bc he's a bitter bitter mannnn.

GOD YES, maybe he was planning to keep addie in the studio, send spamton out on an errand and oh no he died! how sad :( maybe they got married in secret and were trying to flee before tenna found out and did something rash. maybe he feels so guilty he retrieves their bodies along with the wreckage. #mynecrophile Maybe. he put his head in the tele-prompter and that's why his head is a tv.
addie: cerise please there are so many other men out there. he's insane.
i can see him being a big ant-type monster, i like him essentially turning himself into a cyborg almost. he doesn't need to rest after days of rehearsal because his limbs and spine are robotic! assuming he has bones. it's a double edged sword, his dramatic death. no one remembers the murder allegations (good for image) but that also means his entire legacy is like, scrubbed off the face of the earth because no one wants to associate with him (bad for image). worse if the only people who DO talk about him are people in underground true crime forums who. only talk about the mysterious deaths of the marvelous mystery board's co-hosts and his alleged ties. any time someone sneaks into the area where he died he tries too hard to perform for them. HE JUST WANTS TO ENTERTAINNNNN
maybe battat is running the show, finally. he signed cerise and marketed her at the old studio? i can't imagine pluey as a good agent since he can only talk in jazz riffs and wears a fursuit. good at PR maybe. maybe jongler with his whole gun motif runs security and will let cerise into the old studio area... maybe they had to abandon it and moved somewhere because tenna kept scaring people to death in his "authentic horror performances". or built new areas after all of tenna's assets were liquidated. the studio probably smells bad, they never could find the bodies of the Spamtons.
i can see him keeping the wreckage somewhere safe, since i imagine he lived either at the studio or above it. maybe he keeps it hidden in an old garage with prop cars that the studio doesn't use.
the spamton's are objectively Bad At Scaring. midwestern mom who can only look disappointed in you and whatever spamton's got going on. most people can't see them anyway, they have to go full Maitlands with tenna's designer sheets that their bodies are wrapped in. tv time branded sheets. but maybe their area of wandering the lot is bigger then tenna's, where anyone can see him because he's so much more powerful. but he's trapped in just that studio. cerise has to say his name three times to summon him so he can scare the mikes to death. but the spamtons are running around collecting his flyers to intercept any knowledge of him. Collect His Pages even the ones that are now spawning in cerise's back pocket. don't worry about how he put them there he knows his way around a great ass
he's probably been tormenting them since the late 90s in various tenna-esque ways. cartoon violence only achieved with neitherworld antics. they're TIRED of him. addie is begging him to move on, not even death can separate him and spamton. obviously. maybe addie feels a touch maternal towards cerise, this. Nice Young Person can't get wrapped up in tenna's wires like they were. however tenna is mesmerized, presumably, by cerise's offputting nature like how he was with addie's. but instead of chastising him for it cerise actively enjoys it. how far can tenna push the envelope 👀 with his creepy old guy wiles he, too, Can Be Married #cerisescreepyoldguy
-FUCK. YES. maybe he glitches out frequently. twitching a bit. i wanna refine the design with this in mind. maybe you can always see his Sinister Snile. his nose imploded in the great crash out of 1999.
-ouuuugh HE'S FULL OF BUGS!!!! yes. centipedes crawling around his fingers, there's frayed wires sticking out of his neck maybe. convinient ant nest in his chest cavity that extends through his neck and you can see them crawling around the cathode ray tube of his big head. more machine than monster now
-you could be His Perfect Actor if you just. stopped screaming for a bit. maybe they come out of his arms like spiderman. or maybe he has a tail like an electrical plug that he uses like a third arm or leg depending on the situation that comes from the base of his head where the tv now connects
-he's screaming and throwing up the entire time. poor spam. he cannot escape the living glue trap that is mr ant tenna. whenever he moves on his own it's deeply unsettling, the way all his bones crack and snap. maybe addie ends up carrying him a lot of times and it makes him shrivel like a raisin. even in death He Cannot Win and tenna still makes him feel small. worlds Lamest Guy award
