The Company of the Wolf was an infamous mercenary group active on the Sword Coast during the 13th century. It was wiped out by the Zhentarim - by proxy. At the time it was led by a burly, courageous man known as Wulfgar the Gray.

It remained inactive for many years. However, as of 1492, the merc company has been re-established by one of Wulfgar's many son’s sons: Jacoby Greed. This did not please the Zhentarim, but when given adequate payments, they were keen to leave well enough alone. Since then the Band has become generally well respected. It is not prone to taking shady jobs, and many times is sought out as auxillary guards during festivities or other grand events. In fact, guarding and bounties are the two most common types of jobs for the Company of the Wolf to take. Additionally - in some twisted form of irony - most of the veteran mercs (including Freiora) suffer from lycanthropy. Though, the cases of lycanthropy are unrelated to the choice of name.

HC -- Within the Realm, Volothamp Geddarm is well-known. However, among respected scholarly society, he's generally considered a nuisance. His writing is viewed as "unscholarly, abstruse, corpulent doggerel." Nothing is described in acceptable, standardized measures nor backed-up with any amount of validity. So, for the most part, all of his writings are considered entertainment only.

Many rumors revolve around the whacky wizard's existance and writing. Some people say he's not a wizard at all, but a bard claiming to be a wizard in the hope people will take him more seriously. Others suggest the books he's published thus far are comedic ramblings and nothing to be taken with earnest. Worse, many critics outright deny that he's done any of the adventuring he says he has, and wager he's made everything up.

Demenia knows of Volo's writings. She has developed a pseudo-parasocial relationship with Volothamp. Not in the sense that she sees them as friends, but rather, she views him as someone who has personally slighted her (despite never meeting him). This is because she endeavors to do what he's attempted, but she wants to do it in a "proper, pedagogical" manner. The fact that he's potentially soured academic circles against it frustrates her to no end.

Generally speaking, Demenia does not have a hateful bone in her body. She would likely apologize to someone for making them upset if they tried to attack her unprovoked. However, the one, tiny, hateful bone in her body exists purely to spite Volothamp Geddarm and everything he's accomplished.

HC — Drow born to the surface are distinct physiologically from those born and raised in the Underdark. Under!drow’s characteristics are due to adaptation to their environment: very dark skin assists in natural camouflage in chronically dark spaces, hair lacks much pigmentation due to melanin being less necessary, and they’re debilitated by bright light as they’ve adapted to not needing it.

Meanwhile, Surface!drow tend to have a greater range of skin tones, darker hair colors are possible, are a few inches taller on average, and aren’t as sensitive to the light as their counterparts. This is because of exposure to sunlight from birth. It enables more variety in physiology.

The genetics that typically activate from light exposure aren’t triggered in Under!drow, which attributes to their somewhat homogenous appearances.
