Hi there! I'm really not trying to start shit. I just saw something where you posted how NB lesbians aren't real lesbians, and I'm just wondering what the logic behind that is! I personally identify as a NB lesbian, but I'm more interested in conversation than argument. And I want to apologise for the hurtful words people have said. Disagreeing over politics is not something to send death threats over. I hope to hear back! Have a great day! From one valid lesbian to another! 🏳️🌈
Thank you for reaching out to me in an effort to understand my reasoning, I appreciate that and your kind words 💕
The reason I don’t support he/him or they/them only (as in they don’t use she/her pronouns at all) lesbians is because they typically do not identify as a woman. A lesbian is a woman who is attracted to other women. In the English language, pronouns are gendered and assigned to a sex. From my understanding of nonbinary, it is someone who feels a disconnect from their gender (not sex).
I support people who identify as nonbinary, but based on my understanding of the identity and lesbianism, I don’t believe the two can easily mix together.
Adding on to this, if the person identifying as nonbinary uses she/her pronouns (as well as their other pronouns), then I don’t have an issue with it.
I’d love to hear your opinions on this topic, though!
