I spent the last 13 and a half hrs - not counting the 5 I passed out for - doing an art style challenge.
For the styles not my own, I picked three of my favourite artists. And I have something to say about drawing in each of their styles. Or at least attempting to.
Let’s start with mine, while all the images took a lot of layers, mine took the second most. As that is my style, I found it the easiest to draw. And while it’s not my favourite out of the four drawings, I still really like how it turned out.
Next let’s go to @bunn-mun‘s style. While I love his style, it’s not for me. This style took up the most layers. There are elements of the image I like and hate. Something I like are the eyes. What I hate are ears. Still, I would not say I like the style any less. It just made me appreciate Bunn’s style all the more. With @cosmic-artz‘s style actually forced me to make a new brush since Medibang - the prograb I used - doesn’t have the brush they use. I tried to get it as close as possible, but even so, I apologize. This image is my least favourite, due to the fact that I couldn’t get the hair right. Still, I learned a lot.
Lastly, @leslielumarie‘s style I hated and loved doing at the same time. The line art looked really wrong when I started, but as I coloured it, It went from my least favourite to being my favourite of the four.
Questions?
Oliver: As it’s before the class period I suppose I’ll answer some lovely questions! I just hope I get some before I start teaching *nervous chuckle* my students won’t like me keeping them waiting for today’s lesson…. *Sigh*
