My first Yellow-legged Gull of the year and view at Hook-with-Warsash today and view at RSPB Minsmere on Saturday. It was also fantastic to see the rare visiting American Golden Plover at Hook-with-Warsash's Bunny Meadows this afternoon, a gorgeous bird I was thrilled to see, my first ever my second new species of the year and they've both been vagrant waders from America after the Killdeer in January and three life ticks in a row for me have been straying American birds after the famous Hampshire Great-tailed Grackle that I first saw in November. My year list is up to 164 after seven year ticks on this amazing Easter weekend of wildlife my year list the highest any of mine have ever been on this date.
Late Brent Geese, Mediterranean Gull, bee, sticky mouse-ear chickweed and Alexanders were other highlights today. An sensational long weekend of joy of spring and nature and relaxation.
