FAVORITE: "Shaving Your Head" by Lagwagon

A summation of yesterday's Birthday Beer-In-Every-Bar-In-Vermillion adventure:

1) The Roadhouse - I learned four employee faces before we actually received service. You don't respect birthdays and you didn't even have my friend's amazing wing record on display. He died inside for that record. I hate you.

2) Jackpot Laundry - "Hey, do you have any music in here?" Lady turns on a show about weird deaths. So, no.

3) Pro's - The sounds of baseball are not more important than music. You make a trio of turds.

4) Bunyan's - Everyone was old and I got a Bunyan's Bomber for my birthday. This bar was winning long before I noticed that the guy with four upper teeth had two packs of cigarettes in his shirt pocket. My neighbor was there...wearing a shirt from my band hollander. This made Bunyan's the official beginning to the birthday adventure.

5) Eagles - One credit for any song on the jukebox and six minutes to remember/realize that "Continuous Thunder" by Japandroids makes me emotional. Maybe that's just now. I also met an old man named Dick who didn't complain about the NOFX and said he liked any football team that wasn't the Green Bay Packers. We got along marvelously.

6) Leo's - When you need to know what shot to take, you call Jim. Jim is about six kinds of handy friend to have. It is always good to remember.

7) Varsity - The sight of a CD jukebox makes me almost too happy these days. I assume this is part of the aging process.

8) Char-Bar - You are best on a Tuesday in the summer or during Christmas break, an acquaintance I keep on a schedule so we both get along.

TRAILERMISSION

9) Maya Jane's - I think I said something funny in this bar. I am positive I needed water.

10) Main Street Pub - It is dangerous to run into friends at the Pub. I am happy that I survived.

11) Raziel's ... was closed. Ne Jabba no problem.

12) Carey's - A couple of beers, a couple of Dead Milkmen song requests ... I am same.

Such a funny walk home and then onto Alien on sleep timer and the contented sigh of another year...I'm excited for next level of celebration provided that it isn't right now or tomorrow.

Lagwagon's Hoss album and a can of $1 energy drink helped me prepare for this entire adventure yesterday. Thanks to all who joined me in my quest to entertain myself or, alternatively, dropped birthday wishes and profanity my way.
