Update:On Wednesday morning, October 28, 2015, Burbank Property Detectives arrested a person of interested after serving a search warrant, but has not been charged with this case. The investigation is still on-going.
The Burbank Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a female suspect who entered an unoccupied classroom at Bret Harte Elementary School in Burbank and stole a credit card and money from a teachers purse. The incident took place October 7, 2015, shortly after classes had ended. The woman who is described as African American between the age of 30 to 40 years old saw an opportunity to commit the crime and got away with it. Transactions made with the stolen credit card were later tracked to stores in the Glendale and Burbank area. Authorities need your help in identifying her and the getaway vehicle described as a black 4-door Kia or Hyundai, without state license plates. The suspect in this case is also considered a person of interest in similar crimes in La Crescenta and El Segundo, therefore the Burbank Police Department alongside the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, El Segundo Police Department and the Burbank Unified School District would like to bring her in for questioning.
