I think I finally finished that last chapter. I’ll need to reread it for some retouching, but yeah. I think I’ll get to post it tomorrow. Then, I’m back to Witching centric writing, focusing on the structure and character sheets (I know them all so well, but my brain needs them defined on paper to keep things straight).

This last week has been one big cheat day. I didn’t write daily like I had been, I didn’t eat/drink what I was supposed to, and I didn’t do the other things I meant to make a dent in, if not get done. Basically, I reverted to summer vacation habits, but with an added layer of perceived uselessness. 

It’s fine. At least the deadlines I have now are ones I only deal with during set times, as opposed to when I was in school.

I don’t know what it is and maybe other fanfic writers know why, or that they can relate, but I have such a hard time finishing this final chapter. I have the skeleton and with some solid meaty plot attached on most of it, but the actual finishing is tricky. Maybe it’s because I’m bad with endings. I don’t like it when anything Ends (I ignore the final Calvin & Hobbes strip and I’m sure it’ll be a bawl-fest when the Good Place ends this season), even when it’s for the possible best, for my story and for myself.

Finally, I know the joy of causing a reader dismay because of my story. I’m very pleased. That’s probably not the best sentiment for me to have, but I feel like it’s a good sign for my writing.

On a different note, I’m rewriting Buried Knowledge Found’s last chapter and tonight’s writing was mainly of the new outline. I was about to do what I never want to do in fanfic, which is to rehash what the og writer already wrote.

I keep saying that I’m almost done with this fic, but I’ve found that this chapter is a lot longer as I revise it than when I first wrote it, which really doesn’t sound like it should be possible.

I’m enjoying this revision more than the original draft, but this is going to be a long chapter when I post it. Whenever that’ll be.
