my pasties fell off but i was so gorgina it didn’t matter 💋
some favorite shots from my burlesque debut <333 i had such a good time last night it was incredible!! (video under the cut)
had a burlesque workshop this afternoon then in the evening i took myself on a date to an edgar allan poe speakeasy event. living life is so yay :3
i can’t even begin to describe how special today was for me. obviously i’ve been to pride before but this was the first time i was involved in the parade and marching with a group. my life has gotten exponentially better since i joined the burlesque community and getting to march with these people that have filled my life with so much joy and color means the absolute world to me.
i’ve known i was queer since i was eleven years old. my identity has shifted a lot (and still is!), but i have always found comfort in knowing that i am part of a community that is so vibrant in so many unique ways. especially in my loneliest and darkest moments.
today during the parade i was having the time of my life. yelling, dancing, twirling, blowing kisses, the works. and i saw a trans woman (an educated guess on my part, she was very femme and had a wheelchair that was the colors of the trans flag… super cool btw) sitting with the crowd on the side of the road. not upset or anything but just quietly enjoying the festivities. when we made eye contact i made a point to blow a kiss directly to her. and in response she smiled and nodded once at me. the interaction lasted all of two seconds before the parade kept moving but that moment has been replaying in my head all day.
i hope she knew that i put all my pride and admiration in that kiss. i hope she felt it. i hope that she enjoyed the festivities with friends like i did. i hope she went home with a smile on her face. and i hope she knew, even for one fleeting moment, that she was loved beyond compare.
