          of course he’s been more protective of jason than usual since he came back. gar had lost him before, and he had nightmares about losing him again -- about going through that pain again. at least jason was here, though. he had him back, and it was nice for him to see that his sense of humour hadn’t died. gar rolled his eyes, stabling jason with an arm around his shoulders when he went to sit. ❝  i’m not dressing like a fuckin’ slutty nurse, dude.  ❞ he laughed. ❝ no nurse costume, no sponge bath, and it was supposed to be no getting out of bed. but i guess i’ll loosen the rules on one of those. ❞ diana waddled over, hopping up on the couch next to jason, nose burying under his hand again -- wanting to be pet. ❝ you coulda just called me into the bedroom, y’know? ❞ gar muttered, head leaning on jason’s shoulder.

“STOP. you’re making me tired just looking at you.” zoya swats her hands away, in a deliberate attempt to break the other’s concentration. she knows alina’s still getting used to her powers again, and though it’s an effort she supports, it’s almost painful to see her struggle. "you should practice when there’s more sunlight out.” the squaller exhales sharply. she’s no good at voicing her feelings even now, but she has come a long way with alina after all; she should at least try. “it’s not going to come back all at once, alina.” she employs a softer tone now, the shift subtle. “don’t push yourself too hard.”

                    "hey." it's not rare for anna to house people she doesn't know. it's a safe place, after all, shielded by magic and godly powers, and she's handed out the address to several people already. it's rarer for said stranger to crash into her garden, though, right in the middle of a patch of peonies she liked quite a lot, but still— he was in bad shape. she supposed a bed wouldn't go amiss, and now two days later he's stirring. "hey, stay in bed, idiot. calm down."

             BRUCE HEAVES A DEEP SIGH and stares at jason from across the dining room table. for ONCE he thinks that they’re all about to have a relatively peaceful dinner as a family until tim begins to whine that his phone is dead and that he wants to go charge it. which of COURSE triggers a death joke from his second eldest. bruce pinches the bridge of his nose because there is just so many times he can take this from his son. maybe it’s time to toss it back at him.

        DICK FROWNS A LITTLE and looks at damian. he supposes that yes it was a LITTLE presumptuous of him to assume that his little brother would actually WANT to spend time with him, sparring and learning some of his more acrobatic moves. maybe it’s because he’s been feeling lonely lately and no one else in their family will give him the time of day.
