I’ve written parodies of it of a sort [the magician series has one small story where Jay does MLP fanfic with the characters all as ponies etc.) but I began writing fictional stuff I made and never saw the appeal of direct fanfic or had the desire to do it. Much as I loved Tolkien - I remember being quite mad when the fellowship split up - it never even occurred to me to write a story where they didn’t, or even anything approaching epic fantasy at all.
