Gentleman’s Foundry would like to take this time to honor Burt Shavitz, the face of Burt’s Bees. A pioneer whose face became synonymous with natural skincare, Burt passed away on Sunday, at the age of 80.

While his beginnings were that of a local beekeeper in Maine, he would become the symbol of an international, multimillion dollar company. At one point or another, everyone came across his welcoming, bearded face; the face of a complex man who preferred the simple life.

Rest in power, Mr. Shavitz. You opened a door for gentlemen across the world; you will never be forgotten.
