This connects to the model of the Hunger Games we saw today. John Green says he values community and engagement on Youtube, and advertisers want fangirls/boys to feel part of the community. Both parties appeal to a large demographic for this reason, because of a persons desire to belong. There are several challenges advertisers will face when marketing to this demographic, one of which could be frustration among viewers. Personally, I become agitated and irritated when I see an ad on youtube, especially because I am usually forced to watch the ad several times. If advertisers start to advertise on Youtube, they will have to find the most effective way to keep the ads subtle, while still being considered an ad. Another challenge advertisers will face is creating the community vibe. For a film like the Hunger Games, creating a community on Youtube would be rather easy. The film has millions of followers already, and continues to grow every day. However, for products like lipstick or febreeze, creating this vibe is considerably more difficult because there is a lack of preconditioned interest in teenagers.
