My 3 main wood prep tools for sorting fire wood over the summer for our evening camp fires , GransforsBruks Wildlife axe , @silky-europe Gomboy 240 and BigBoy 2000 folding saws  all very dependable tools .

Technora friction saw .

 The use of technora / kevlar and other Aramid cords as a friction saw to escape illegal restraints is well know but technora 950 cord is actually a great friction saw for materials other than just zip ties .

 The saw is quick to make from readily available hardware you can find on most of your gear in this case cord-locks and tac -toggles to give good grip . It takes some work to do and would never replace a decent hand saw but from a survival point of view  it could be invaluable

 Simply loop over what you need to cut and saw through using a push/pull motion in this case a seasoned oak branch . The cord gets pretty hot but won’t melt unlike standard 550 cord and its enough to cauterize the wood as it frictions through , you can clearly see the smoke it creates and the blackened cauterized wood .
