Fire beads in use .

These were made up for a Search & Rescue specialist and bushcrafter in Canada .

My fire beads are made up from layers of Hammaro tinder paper a 100% eco friendly firelighter and 2 layers of my own firelighters made from recycled toilet paper cardboard tubes soaked in candle wax .

These will burn for approx 3 mins depending on environmental conditions and are waterproof as 100% sealed in wax .

 Thanks to the eyelet the beads can be stored directly on your fire steel  or knife / flashlight lanyard or as a zip pull on a jacket .

To use simply ignite with a lighter or match, if using a firesteel its best to fluff up one side with a knife tip first .

Recycled candle tin .

Used Burts bees tin filled with melted recycled candle wax and new wick .

Any tin with a screw on lid can be used , old boot polish tins are great too .

These are perfect for long term storage in a Go bag or for emergency home use during powercuts .

Cool little edc container kindly sent to me by the good folks @alphabushcraft.

These compact slide lid tins make great EDC kit stash’s for small items or as a dedicated minimalist fire kit .

The last pic shows a few EDC / SERE sized items that could fit in the tins as a minimialist surival tin though obviously not all together .
