(music consumption)(...)everyone is loosing out now; fans, potential new fans, artists and intermediaries. This is both embarassing, annoying and starting to approach wasting my time to such a degree that I loose my motivation to use the services at all.
I want to do something that should be very simple; make a selection of my favourite LIVE music albums of all times, with for example the first or last half of each melody.
I would like to help the artists with my recommendations, and especially to get more people to support my favourites, which theoretically would produce even more (great) stuff the more they earn.
It is beyond me why the players make it so hard to do such simple things. And now, in 2016, it is not just legal dilemmas anymore either. Youtube, for example, could easily make things (much) more convenient. Heck, I cannot even sort either the list of my playlists nor the tracks inside each of my playlists on my Youtube channel alphabetically or by year..! I cannot tag tracks that I want to include in my playlists so that we can use such metadata to provide filtering and sorting options to our viewers... Why not?
I should be able to easily look up the official channel for each artist, for example "Mari Boine", find all her productions from there, select by checkboxes which ones I would like to promote, and whether I would like my visitors to be presented with the first or the last half of each song.
- It should be easy to automatically present links to buy single titles, albums, or memberships for online listening, from links shown on each video as they are playing, and as well at the end of each playlist.
- I should not need to worry about licenses, as long as I can find the videos from verifiable official representation accounts for each artist.
- A miserable example: "Mari Boine" released "Eallin / Live" in 1996, and I can only find "MariBoineVEVO", which I am not 100% sure if is "the" main representation for Mari Boine, especially since there is only 1 available MariBoine video on that "channel".
We have the technical solutions and legal frameworks for doing this now in 2016, so this situation is just embarassing and totally unnecessary.
(see below for a list of my favourite Live albums that I would like to be able to legally promote to people I might inspire)
