I love this so much!
Social Climbers Weekly #44
1. Buster the Boxer
John Lewis's latest Christmas campaign, extends from TV ad to Oculus Rift, Snapchat and Twitter Stickers for the first time. Shoppers visiting the fourth floor of John Lewis' flagship store in London will be able to experience the Oculus Rift headset and bounce along with the animals from the ad. There was also a 48hr filter on Snapchat and Twitter Stickers that allowed users to customise their photos with images of Buster.

2. Whatsapp GIFs for iOS
Earlier this week, WhatsApp launched the latest version of its messaging application on iOS, which now allows users to send and receive GIFs. Not only will users be able to search a GIF library but they can also select a video from their camera roll within the app’s Attach menu and tap the GIF toggle to send it as a GIF.

3. Snapchat Vending Machine
Snapchat plans to sell its new video capturing sunglasses, Spectacles, by using vending machines. The first machine will be deposited at Venice Beach before it eventually makes its way around the U.S. In true Snapchat fashion, the machines are ephemeral — they will only be available for about one day at each location before they’re removed.

4. Instagram Stories Updates
Instagram stories are beginning to separate themselves from the Snapchat stories they are derived from. Yesterday Instagram introduced mentions, links, and an inline version of its Boomerang tool into stories. The result is a product that feels livelier than before, and truly distinct from Snapchat for the first time

5. Whatsapp 'Status’ Stories
WhatsApp is testing a Snapchat Stories-like feature on its instant messaging and voice calling app. The feature, called "Status," is aimed at letting people share multiple updates in a day. Each of these instances of status has a lifespan of 24 hours, and can be shared with every contact on your WhatsApp, or with select people.

John Lewis Christmas Advert 2016
“Gift that everyone will love”. One simple headline that sums up the meaning of the campaign with a easy hashtag, equals a great ad. John Lewis’ is by far the most touching holiday ad of the year 2016. It’s one of those touching ads that you wouldn’t know ( or guessed wrong) what it’s really selling until the last minutes, yet it was so touching thereby you remember the brand and products without actually seeing it. Simple brilliant.
