Super short drabble for the au. Have at thee.
"Wait, hold on!" You called out to the all too sunny animatronic, trying to catch up to his lanky strides as he maneuvered himself through the circus. Away from you.
He does not answer you, rays spinning about with a few clicks that would be audible if not for the distance that was between the two of you. One that you were trying your damned best to close.
Just when you thought he'd stop– at least to hear you out, he ducked underneath an entryway lined with colorful red and yellow plastic tassels. You huffed, tailing behind him.
You do not take notice of the subtle change in scenery. A tall mirror in the far corner, multiple rings varying in different sizes and colors set up behind you....the faded marks of where stars used to be above you–
At once, the sunny animatronic turned around, snapping down to your level so quickly that you startle at the speeded movement.
"Some things are better left where they are." He chirped far too happily, eyes beginning to crescent as he continued, "And some people should stick to their designated employment zones!"
Before your mouth could open with the clear offense that you took, the sunny animatronic continued. "I must ask that you stop pestering me and the staff with all your..." He leaned closer, hands placed on his knees as if he was talking to a child, "misguided questions. The name that keeps coming out of your mouth, is of little concern. You have my word!" Again. Is voice is far too chipper.
Even still, you could feel the animosity. He purposefully refused to use Moon's name. Purposefully had chosen to Ignore a fellow animatronic, that was obviously in dire need of help. Anger burned in your chest, just as questions burned the back of your mind.
"I don't understand," You tried, pushing down the negative feelings that were beginning to simmer between you and the sun themed animatronic. "Moon really needs–"
"I could care less of what he needs." The tone of his voice completely caught you off guard. There was no more jolly and silly sweetness that he would show off to guests. It was lower, lacking any enthusiasm whatsoever. It almost lacked any emotion at all. Almost.
But just as quickly, the jovial persona returns. "Come now, Dear– This may be a circus, but the freaks stay outside."
