I will never not be bitter about the way the MCU decided to disrespect this scene. This very scene right here, moving forward with Steve Rogers’ story.

AND I’LL TELL YOU WHY

Can you imagine what it must mean to someone like Steve, someone who up until that point very much feels like a Man Out Of Time.. someone whose life was taken away from him for the completion of a mission, and everything familiar along with it.. do you understand the SCOPE of what it must mean for the loneliest man in the world to wake up and see Sam, sitting beside him, playing some music and patiently waiting for him to wake up?

Steve was probably expecting to wake up to no one, I mean he’s been doing it for years now. Why should it be any different now that he’s hurt?

But instead, he’s greeted with the sight of Sam. Who’s probably been sitting in that very chair for as long as the hospital has let him. He’s playing the Troubleman album, because that’s the last thing he told him he needed to catch up on. And then Steve says “On your left”, which has become an inside joke between the two of them, and can you just--can you SIT for a second and THINK about how Steve has probably not had any inside jokes with ANYONE, probably since the 1940′s?

This is why Captain America: The Winter Soldier was, and continues to be one of the MCU’s very best of films to date. It’s not just about the fights and the nazis and Captain America swinging his shield to hell and back (although that is a pretty cool aspect, not gonna lie).

What truly sets CA:TWS apart and what makes it great even now is that, at its core, it’s a story about found families and new beginnings. It’s about Steve waking up in that hospital bed and realizing he doesn’t have to be alone anymore, he doesn’t have to weather life alone (”..the thing is you don’t have to.. I’m with you ‘til the end of the line..”).

By the end of this movie, Steve Rogers finds a team, and more importantly, a family again (people he can count on, people he can lean on) in this modern era, when he probably thought it impossible to find that level of connection ever again.

Heck, even the presence of Bucky Barnes himself is an allusion to the importance of found families in Steve’s life, considering he was the first one.

Perhaps that’s the reason Steve and Nat seem to develop such a strong bond that stays that way until the very end of the Thanos ark (for once). They’re both in a sense “alone” and have been alone for a long, long time. Therefore, they recognize the value of finding friends that will stand by you, not betray you and even die for you... they see it for the rare, precious thing that it is.

Okay. Just because Ellimist is super powerful does not make him God. He’s not God. He’s just not. He’s not the person that God is based on. Human civilization has literally never fucking heard of this guy until now. He’s not God. He’s not even remotely tied to God.

Crayak is not Satan. He is not Lucifer. No one knows that he even exists. Satan is not based on him. The concept of Satan is not based on him because humans don’t even know he exists.

You can’t just say that they are God and Satan because one is good and the other is evil and they’re both super powerful and highly advanced beings. That’s......that’s not how it works. Especially when your target audience is people who have not read the books ,and will thus be assuming that Ellimist is literally God, and that Crayak is literally Satan. Becaues that’s a thing that happens in fiction, a lot.

There’ a fuckung guy in Supernatural named Chuck who is God. You can’t jsut. You can’t just say that X character is God and X character is Satan when they’re not.
