Where Corrin may feel overwhelmed by trying to keep pace with another, Jakob has always managed to be a perfect complement to every aspect of her character. If Corrin struggled with resolve, his was twice as strong to provide enough for them both; if Corrin's steps lagged behind by even a fraction of a second, he would bend to ensure that she remained in tempo with the way that he moved. Now, even as she tries her hardest to keep up, a breathy laugh escapes when they turn. "You know, I never have been able to keep up with you in things like this," She mumbles with a smile, closer to him than she would normally be. The cut of his jaw and the slope of his nose, the way his bangs fell into his face, and the feeling of her hands tucked securely into his... There's nothing better, she's certain, and her night will have easily peaked at this moment. "But you still always make it work. You amaze me, honestly!" A particular motion in their dance brings her close to his chest, cheeks flushed with a combination of exertion and.... something else that she can't quite put her finger on. "I'm lucky. Lucky to have ever had you at my side." Lucky to hopefully never spend another moment away, feeling complete once the other half of her life returned to her side. "Thank you, Jakob. You coming here with me... it's already made this night wonderful."

[ MINT CANDY ] - For when your breath isn’t as fresh as newly-fallen snow.

In a pleasant nice such as this, it really is quite dreadful to encounter something as unpleasant as the butler of their former army leader. Alas, fate is seldom kind to those who walks its paths, and it seems she cannot avoid the unpleasant man forever.

"Oh, good evening." She says and bows politely, because that is the least that society demands. She hopes that he might ignore it and that they can be little more than passing ships in the night. Unfortunately, that seems not to be the case. Her eyes fall to the hand he offers and the little candy that sits in his palm.

Ah. It is an insult, then.

"No thank you." She takes a step back and bows again. "Though I am honoured to be given a gift from your personal collection, I am not interested. I do not like the flavour of mint."

She likes him even less.

"Besides, I imagine that you need it more. Being eager to lick Corrin's boots as you are must leave quite an unpleasant breath in its wake."

[ MINT CANDY ] - For when your breath isn’t as fresh as newly-fallen snow.

...what does jakob mean by this? one look at the man's face, and shigure decides he doesn't really want to find out.

he smiles, as warmly as he can manage. "thank you, sir. please accept one of my tulips in exchange---I heard that many of the attendees are collecting them."

with a respectful incline of his head, shigure presses the stem of the flower into the butler's hand. "I hope you have a lovely rest of the night---"

and then he turns, walking back into the crowd.

[ FLOWER ARRANGEMENT ] - No matter how many flowers you gather, your bouquet won't look its best unless you have the skill to make it so. A couple of students have taken upon itself to imbue their peers with the knowledge of flower language and the art of flower arrangement, and as a result the garden has become something of a workshop.

"Dabbling in flower wreaths again, milady? While I am a busy man no less today than yesterday and the day before, I believe I've a small moment to spare to inspect the quality of your work."

“Jakob! Perfect timing,” Elise shuffles forward from the spot she sits cross-legged on the floor (not the most elegant position for a princess, yeah, but it is very much the most ideal for flower crown making, in her experience. And really, what kinda weirdo would just put a bunch of flowers in front of her and expect her to not start chaining them together), bringing her little setup of flowers and stems organized right in the center of her makeshift skirt-table along with to present up to him. 

“What do you think? Is this big enough? Or too big?” From the center of her pile, she scoops up the largest loop (and one nearest to completion) that’s still loose enough to modify while remaining tight enough a little jostling won’t make it collapse completely, reaching up as high as she can while remaining on the floor to hand it off to him for proper inspection. A proper proper inspection, really, since Jakob always does things properly fancy-like. Which makes him the perfect flower crown consultant! Even if he doesn’t always seem to like it. Butler stuff is kinda like crafts, if you think about it.

“I tried sizing it on myself, but my head’s kinda small, you know? And with everyone having their hair done all big and fancy on top of that, it’s a little… you know. I wanna make sure everyone can wear them, you know? You can keep that one too, if you want! As thanks for helping and stuff!”

[ MINT CANDY ] - For when your breath isn’t as fresh as newly-fallen snow. ------------- "Excuse me, milady. I couldn't help but observe that tea you were drinking. That is a fine choice of blend!" Could it be? An admiring look in Jakob's eyes? The butler nods with utmost appreciation, overjoyed to find even a semblance of a kindred soul. "I should like to offer this mint and flower as complements. Small wonders to refresh one's senses after a delightful cup of tea."

The night had been a busy one, so Céline found it imperative to take breaks in between the conversation and dancing. (And to rest her feet, fatigued as they were walking about in these heels—of course, a Firenese lady was taught to never admit as such.)

And for her, what better way to unwind than with a cup of tea? In matching with the night's floral theme, she had requested the kitchen to brew her blend of black tea and jasmine petals. Though normally paired with the green teas of the east, combining its sweet, floral notes with the earthiness of black tea created a most bold flavor—and a strong, delectable aroma as well.

Add in a drop of honey, and she was truly in paradise.

Perhaps it was the scent that attracted this gentleman, his praise for her tea and offering of gifts bringing a smile to the princess's face. She could always appreciate a fellow tea connoisseur.

"Oh, my! Mint is the perfect palate cleanser. I take it you're no stranger to tea, then... please, have my lily as a thank you."

She sets her cup down, replacing it for the flower that she then offers him. "I procured this particular tea blend from a friend: a pairing of black tea leaves and jasmine petals. I only wish it were the night-blooming jasmine I heard of once; I would be curious to taste the differences."

Even now, she thinks to the Nohrian blend Emblem Camilla once told her of.
