o F F Love - Memories (EP) - Review
Memories (I-III) (EP) o F F Love Released: September 2nd, 2016 / M=MAXIMAL Words: Peter Quincy Ng
Sprawling from the depths of the internet, Parisā o F F Love penned his latest 3-part EP āMemoriesā. Written about an obsessive love through the fact that the idea of Prince Charming is more of a myth than reality, the theme of illusion is central to his latest record. A lyrically-thin effort, o F F Love opts for minimal word use and simplistic rhyme patterns instead using repetition to drive the textures of his songs. It's a pattern that repeats throughout the record. Track āHappy Faceā oozes over this concept as o F F beams over with his texturized vocoder as the solemn piano chords pound over rattling synthesizer drum trill.
Then thereās āNever Let U Goā which pulses with the tropical laser of his dancehall-infused iridescence and the big spacious beats follow on āFake Loveā with trickle against the plucked keys of his vocal anguish.
His lead single from "Memories" however is āHow Muchā which has seen both reworking and renditions from Tumblr-era sweethearts Laura Clock (formerly Butterclock) and Kristina Florell of Merely. While the original is a jogging beat that exudes o F Fās burning confession, Clockās rendition with Sun Angels on production oozes a Balearic beat over the calm ocean of pan-flutes and Lauraās similarly vocoded sound.
However, itās Merelyās reworking that is the EPās marquee track. With her fragile coax that surges through a New-Age angelic, the reworking is a fitting end to the track to the purging emotional release that is o F F Loveās āMemoriesā.

Butterclock - Hustling (Ft. oOoOO)
Laura Clock - Fade
Remember reggaeton? We canāt say itās going to make another cultural crossover, but if youāre craving the Puerto Rican export of dembow beats, then Laura Clock has you covered. Formerly of Butterclock, ClockāsĀ āFadeā wanders between the boundaries of ghostly vocals, shaky rhythms and dancehall cuts. A cataclysm of opposing sounds, her video is equally as intriguing as the cool-as-the-internet Laura Clock hangs with her crew dressed in minimally black or white behind a lush greenhouse backdrop.
