a/n - so i had an unsettling day with bone weary malaise, and i wanted to come home and eat something healthy to boost up energy but the mango was bad and the apple went soft, and so the only thing left to eat with my greek yoghurt was chocolate and chia seeds. so. here, have something sweet. because whenever i have a shitty day, (attempting) to make someone else smile makes me feel better.

One week. That's all she's asking for. ONE WEEK. Maybe a nice, overdue vacation to a tropical beach - she'd seen a documentary on beaches in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Philippines a long time ago, and had redefined her ideals of the perfect beach vacation - but at this rate, she'll take a one week lie in at home, alone. Well, maybe with Killian and Henry. But that's it.
And yeah, she's not running back to New York, per say, but she can't say she's not tempted to, just for a week maybe, personally pack up her things rather than entrust the task to the movers. Plus, it'd be nice to introduce Killian to the sight and sounds sans the stressors that brought him there the first time. There's also the fact that she's been fielding calls from Avery's mom, who is upset that she's taken Henry away without a by-your-leave, thank you very much, and Sheila Avery is none too happy with her, she knows. Maybe a gift basket will help.
"Allow me," Killian says, appearing from the bedroom door suddenly.
"Allow you what?"
"To field the burden you carry," he clarifies, walking up to the bay window and taking a seat.
Emma sighs, nestling into him without thought.
"I'm just tired. When will it end? It's one thing after another, and I'm just so tired. I mean I know I'm The Savior, ha, should probably get that trademarked, and I know I signed up for never ending chaos, but this is a bit much, don't you think?"
"Hmm" he hums, placing a kiss against her temple.
"I mean, really, really, is it so hard to ask for this damn town to go 6 DAYS without something blowing up or someone trying to mess it up, and I don't think I can keep doing it like this..."
She trails off into the silence, looking out of the window to the deceptively calm sea.
Another beat passes, before she speaks again.
"Hey, have you heard of The Titanic?"
"The what? That's not an euphemism, is it?"
"No," she laughs, because of course he'd go there, "it's a ship. It was supposed to be unsinkable."
"No ship is unsinkable, Swan, and any worthy sea captain fears and respects this."
"Well, at the time, this was like a hundred years ago, they built this magnificent ship that would sail the Atlantic Ocean, the same ocean we're looking at right now, and they promised it as the unsinkable ship, The Titanic."
"A fool's promise," Killian sighs, shaking his head, "I presume it did indeed, sink?"
"Yup. Rather spectacularly, they even made a movie about it."
"Oh? Well then I know what we're watching for movie night," Killian declares, and it warms her heart, how quickly he's taken to this life, with (for) her.
"They change it up quite a bit though," she warns, but is met with a scoff from her pirate.
"Oh please Swan, I'd sooner trust the crocodile with my haircut than one of those movies - look at how they botched Pan!"
She turns in his arms, hooking her fingers through his hair gently as she touches her lips to his, a mollifying kiss to soothe the grumpy pirate. (He hates the Peter Pan cartoon so much it'd be funny if she hadn't experienced Neverland herself.)
He pulls back after a moment, thumbing her chin gently, reverently, as he always does.
"You do know I'd do anything for you, don't you?"
She ducks her eyes down, mumbling a soft yes, because she does know, even if it still floors her nine out of ten times.
"Swan," he says gently, tone half a whine, and she looks up to his eyes.
"Hmm?"
"I can't promise you an off day, but I can promise to make every day with you worth it, to halve your burdens and double your strength. Is that good enough for now?"
"I love you," she says, the words tumbling out from her heart, and he doesn't even blink, doesn't start in surprise, merely smiles wider, pressing a kiss to her nose.
Is anyone else kind of hoping that Peter Pan might reappear on the show?
I mean, the level of wanting to punch the character in the face was to the level of Joffrey but Robbie Kay was so amazing and an incredible young actor I want him back on the show.
I would like to write a fanfic and I need ideas. Suggestions?
[Edit: My fandoms are mainly OUAT (Captain Swan), Sherlock, Pushing Daisies, Harry Potter, and Orphan Black]
