EEEEEP let me see what i can do! A synopsis of the au itself should be fine, with a little bit on some of the characters; although I’m saving a good bit of that for the intro posts ;3
Basically, “modern religion” au is just that, a version of the religion au we know(devil oso, goddess choro, angel jyushi, priest kara, devilish nun ichi, and devilish nun/choir boy totty) but set in modern day Tokyo. Matsuoka Choro-a local middle school teacher-helps lead the youth at a church planted in the 70′s by a New York ministry, along with his roommate, a young couple from overseas and their adoptive son.
The area they live in has a large amount of what’s considered “at risk teens”, with gang activity on the cheap-for-living west side acting as a beacon to runaways and societal outcasts. They do their best to attract these people and help them get set onto a better path while still working with regular citizens, but with societal views and their own preconceptions working against them, every interaction is a fight to gain the populaces’ trust. As he goes about his daily life, he comes to know more and more of the… interesting characters around him, some of which he won’t be forgetting
