So let me guess, between coraline and undertale/swap, love that AU so much!
Yes, we’ve said multiple times that this Au is Coraline/underswap (bonus tale/fell)
Im really curious... If this is based on Coraline, are you still gonna make it different at all? It seems like poor Buttonberrry will get one of his eyes done up by the Other Brother, while other times it seems almost like a retelling of Coraline with Undertale AU characters instead... I kinda hope you'll put your own spin on this 😅
the thing with sans and one eye getting a button isn’t cannon, it was just for fun and is a ways for people to sorta tell it’s buttontale sans when he is drawn with other sans’. other than that the AU follows the story of Coraline with a few smaller differences. In this AU, Gaster is the parents of sans and papyrus but passed away leaving papyrus in charge of caring for 10 year old sans, Papyrus couldn’t afford to keep their dads home and had to sell it and use the money to buy one of the apartments in the share house. Another small difference is, instead of the scene where coraline and her mom are shopping for cloths. Sans and papyrus are food shopping and papyrus wants to get only what they need, where as sans wants to pick foods that they use to make with their father (eg Taco’s) But they require more ingredients which adds up, and they’re currently short of money which makes papyrus say no.
Why exactly was this called 'ButtonTale' instead of 'ButtonSwap'? Is there a back story for the title?
it’s called buttontale because it’s not a swap for anything. there are characters from original undertale, underswap and underfell, all mixed together in this AU. I wasn’t going to call it buttontaleswapfell. It’s called Buttontale because that was the name that I found best suited.
Not only do I love Coraline for the creep factor, but you have now merged it with Underswap, this is so cool. Kudos to you.

the dead chara is the classic one. the only other au’s involved in this one is underswap and underfell with characters from the original game scattered through because they’re the au’s all of the mods are most familiar with
