Bituing Walang Ningning, the classic drama movie that made this line famous, is now being made into a theater production. It's a story of a young singer's struggles and rise to stardom written by fictionist Nerissa Cabral. The movie originally casted Sharon Cuneta, Cheri Gil and Christopher de Leon. It was later on made into a teleserye, which starred Sarah Geronimo, Angelika dela Cruz and Ryan Agoncillo.
Viva Films, Full Theater Productions and Resorts World Manila are responsible for taking this classic from mainstream media to the theater stage. The stage adaptation is now looking for local talent to play the lead role Dorina Pineda. Auditions will be held on February 28 and March 1 at The Plaza, Newport Mall.
Qualifications:
1. Female, single with pleasing personality, between 16 to 20 years old
2. Exceptional talent for singing and acting and can speak Filipino fluently
3. Good moral character
4. Open to both amateur and professional talents
Registration will be from 8am up to 11am at The Plaza, Newport Mall
Please bring the following:
1. Two colored photographs – one half body and one full shot in 5R
2. Application form
3. Legal guardian consent form for all contestants below 18 years old
Initial screening will commence immediately. All contestants should be ready to sing “Bituing Walang Ningning.”
The winning contestant will receive a movie and recording contract from Viva Communications worth P1 Million and play the role of Dorina.
