Tết này là cái tết đầu tiên mình không về. Vì có lịch trực đến gần rằm mới về được. Cũng có buồn, nhưng thấy trống trải nhiều hơn. 

Ở nhà tớ gần gũi nhất với ông nội, nên giờ không về được thấy thương với nhớ ông lắm. Ông nghe tin tớ không về thì gật gù “Công việc mà!” nhưng tớ biết chắc ông buồn lắm. 

Cách đây một năm chẳng nghĩ được là mình sẽ như giờ đâu. Cuộc đời đưa đẩy làm thay đổi hết mọi quyết định. Nhưng cứ đón nhận thôi, dù sao tớ cũng yêu những điều mình đang có lắm.  .

This Tet is the first Tet when I cannot come home, because I have to work a shift until the fifteenth of the first lunar month. I feel sad and even more unfullfilled.

I am very close with my Grandpa so now when I cannot make it home, I do miss him a lot. When he heard that I cannot come back this year, he only nodded: "Work is work," but I know he must be rather sad about it. 

A year ago, I didn't think that I would be where I am now. Life pushed me around and changed all of my plans and decisions. But I'll just embrace it, whatever happened, I still love what I have now."

The first person stories from the Rwandan genocide that @humansofnewyork are currently posting are truly truly horrendous. They are so hard to even read - yet for almost a million people, this murder, rape and torture was their reality. Please go and take a look if you aren’t already following them. The world needs to know what went on and to learn what hatred can lead to. And we need to honour the people who are brave enough to tell their stories.
