In the papers they act like victims are shot down from the heavens, but in truth they are shot from the curb- or the alley- or wherever violence takes over the better parts of men’s brains. He isn’t rattled anymore. He’s calm. He’s seen it all before and nothing ever changes. But sometimes in the quiet moments- between the sirens and the slayings- he smokes and bitterly considers how the world became like this. Surely, there is some greater impulse out there other than that of madness? But as he trails in the wake of worst in the city, he doubts it. The world is silent, until someone screams.  

A headcanon moodboard done for @imaginebuzzfeedunsolved’s Discord group! I love film noir and the idea of Shane being a jaded investigator who covers up his dread with humor and stoicism is one of my fav headcanons.
