Hey, I'm gonna acknowledge the elephant in the room real quick:
I know Bulbapedia states that Hilda is 14 and N is 20 in BW. I know that the source is an interview with Masuda. I'm choosing to ignore this information because it's narratively stupid.
The world of pokemon is based on childrens' power fantasy and I buy in completely as long as the narrative doesn't also try to be more grounded with its actions and consequences and worldbuilding. The actions of just about every character make more sense with a 16/18 split, especially considering Cheren/Bianca start their young adult lives in B2W2.
