I made a teeny tiny comic about my characters Kilian and Vivian and their hands.

Last month I did this "G-Pen study that turned into a how-to-draw-frills" of Kilian and today I finally finished Vivian's part of this.

im trying to recreate the concept of a town for my project “Black Willow” -  thought it might be fun to document some of my bigger projects in minecraft, so im starting with that

creating maps and landscapes in minecraft is both fun & interesting for me to do, the generated world either offers a very natural OR strange layout, and i feel like having a sort of 3D model of what you envision helps a lot with understanding the distance and scale of it - and of course is a good reference point for consistency

i dont have a name for the town yet, so im just calling it the “bw project”

decided to start building it around this natural village by a fairly shallow lake

the lake and surrounding landscape immediately caught my eye (which is good, since i usually generate multiple worlds until i find one that “fits”)

my plans for this area is going to be a more historic & nice part, not too far from the town center (which will be farther back towards that sandbank)

another point i found interesting is this mountain range across the lake

i might try to build a small manor, or some kind of tower on that top - would definitely make for a nice view - in the context of the story it would likely function as more of a museum

for now im mainly smoothing out & connecting some of the rivers, so that one could easily follow them via boat

the first officially “done” structure of the town is this mildly fancier bridge right by the lake (F to that villager’s house, but it Had To Go)

the real difficult part is going to be the general layout of the town itself, but we’ll see how thats gonna go

Art Improvement Challenge! 

You know how this "high school vs now" was going round? 

I picked my first PC coloured image from 2011 - with GIMP and mouse. (I'm not so sure when I did the lineart, but I guess it's 2010, might be earlier tho ...)

At some point I drew the sketches of these in my sketchbook and forgot about them immediately. Until I found them again.
