Khotin - “Why Don’t We Talk”
~ “Why Don’t We Talk” is described by Edmonton based Khotin’s label 1080p as “daydream house” and “gentle acid”, which an apt description for his new single off of “Hello World”, which truly never feels that it begins nor ends. Supported by an arsenal of Roland synthesizers, Khotin crafts a soothing and translucent house narcotic for his first entry on 1080p.
Objekt - “Ganzfeld”
~ The always dependable Berliners over at Leisure System play their best Chuck Woolery impersonation in this love connection of a 12” split between Objekt and electro overlords Dopplereffekt. Here is Objekt’s breakbeat efforts on the b-side of Hypnagogia, due out next month.
Sophie - “Hard”
~ If you haven’t heard of the riddlin ladled UK based PC Music label, it may be for the best. I’m unclear if the veil has yet to be raised on the identity of one of their more promising “artists” Sophie yet, but she or he produces J-pop infused seapunk juke that is enjoyable as a Mountain Dew flavored pixie stick. Conceptually and morbidly intriguing, tastes like shit, yet you would probably try it again. Transport yourself into a kawaii rave located on the fringes of Akihabra where everyone is stabbing you with ecstasy laced candy canes and you may get the picture, or just click play down below.
