A lot of people seem to mistake Kaita's name as "Katia" (myself included at the start). Is there any specific reason her name is Kaita, especially since her origin is Russian?

It sounded nice. That’s really both my reason, and her reason in-universe. It was actually done before I finalized some of her roots, so it just had a nice ring to it. In-universe, before she even realized she had some kind of Russian origin or could speak it, she chose that name at random. 

Basically I often do character designs first, and find some crazy way of bringing them all together into the same story. In Kaita’s case, the design came first, the name second, and everything else last.

Even after coming out in it’s entirety I still had difficulty pushing through cuz I feel the same throughout how you left in the beginning.

What kept me moving through it were the scenarios. Some of them were hilarious, and some of them were EXISTENTIALLY DREADFUL.

And the worst part is, with all the region locking and other copyright protection methods, there is a possibility of you getting locked out of watching any of your discs.

Yep! That too! I’ve moved around a lot, luckily within Europe. But like, if any of my devices break or I need to replace them while I’m living in, say, Asia or the Americas: Whellp! There goes my entire DVD collection! Now useless pile of plastic! AND I’m pretty sure that most Blu-Ray now/soon require like online registration bullshit and whatever.

Basically, the entire physical-movie business has gone to shit. And buying digital films is even worse because they requires streaming shit and whatever. Just, fucking give me a .mkv or .mp4 and I’m happy. But NOOOO. I gotta make do with a dumb, stupid, badly made, constantly crashing online YT-knockoff that plays at 480p max. And Netflix non-US is garbage.

No thank you, I’ll just take my chances with TPB.
