placing a small gift box and a farewell letter to another student she enjoyed talking to, with a sigh she walked away without knocking the door. 'farewell' she mumbled.
Pausing in front of her dorm, her eyes focused on the gift box. There was nothing sweet about this sudden gift. While others pranced about and looked at their gifts as though it was treasure, her body quivered in fear of the contents. “No…” she mumbled. Her eyes widened. Tatiana was leaving. She was leaving. She was leaving.
Her body quaked with sadness, her mind went blank as she continued to read, and on the inside her body screeched with regret and guilt. Was there anything she could have done? Was there anything she could have said to make her stay? Wasn’t there anything to keep this beauty in her life? But mirrors shattered, broke and the smile upon Minhee’s lips was forced and broken.
Beautiful smiles and beautiful lips, kisses of sweet melodies that she would unfold and tell the tales of. Litanies and prayers were sent to the endless skies above, one day she’d come back, wouldn’t she? A siren of some sort, Professor Tatiana was a siren that had lured her to her death.
Goodbye. Will I ever hear the singing of the sirens again?
