In another life, Ocean was a cat. Or so they assumed. Because given a sunny day, all they really wanted to do was find a nice sunbeam and take a long nap. Today they happened to be outside when the sun made its appearance, and so they'd ventured away from any walkways to lie down for a bit and soak up the sunlight. Eyes closed, breathing even, they had no problem taking a nice public nap until they felt shadow fall over them. "Hey, you're blocking the sun," they complained, opening their eyes to look at the individual standing just in the way. "Why don't you just come and join me? Come have a lovely experience. A nice conversation. Just don't stand in my sunlight."

Ocean didn't have much of a reason to shop at this particular store, but they liked to observe the people that frequented all kinds of places. There were certainly stereotypes that most of the individuals could fill, and that was of interest to Ocean. Plus, the pamphlets on display towards the exit were fun for them as well. Lots of survivalist stuff, PSA type readings from ten plus years ago, and that was also pretty fun for them to go through. They'd already grabbed three pamphlets, and were about to head out when they noticed Ricardo browsing. "Oh, hey, you're a ranger, right?" They said aloud, trying to get his attention. "Weird request, but I'd love to pick your brain a little bit. Not about anything specific really, I'm just curious what that career path all entails. Besides being totally okay with a near-constant risk of death." The comment may have sounded rude, but Ocean was being genuine.

"Okay, hear me out. Casseroles. They're kind of the best invention, right? That's an American thing, isn't it? It feels American. Just throwing everything into an oven-safe dish and smothering it in cheese or something and then just baking until everything in it is safe for consumption? Lazy cooking, basically," not that they knew how to cook anything, and so they weren't really one to talk. "But I'd love a casserole of some kind right now. I don't even care what's in it. Just bring me a mish-mash diner casserole," they said to the waitress, smiling easily and looking across the table at Peyton. "What about you? Casserole for two?"

Ocean often stopped at the homes that had animals. They couldn't really help themself, too excited at the critters but too irresponsible to take care of animals themselves. "How are the chickens?" They called out, leaning over the fence to see the clucking, feathered beasts hopping around with dead eyes and funky beaks. Ocean grinned, reaching out a hand to stroke one, who moved away from the hand as soon as she felt it. "So do you get lots of eggs from them, typically?" They asked, turning their attention to Pandora with a smile.

Ocean had pulled themself up on the counter by the cash register, two bottles of nail polish in each hand that they were staring at and had been for quite a while now. "I mean, I like the shimmer that Animal-istic has to offer, but it doesn't go with the other colors at all. And Zom-Body to Love glows in the dark, which is always fun with the blackout curtains. I have a regular who got a kick out of it last time, and that was just on my toes," they sighed as they looked at the colors again, and then put them down in a neat row on the counter, crossing their legs underneath them. "What do you think? Animal-istic for all the nails, or do something fun with the other three all together?"

"Every once in awhile I'll find a box of something hiding on a shelf somewhere and I can't help but wonder what's all even still good anymore," Ocean could make conversation with literally anyone, if they were bored enough. And the grocery store always reminded them of how weird things were here. "Like a super old box of kraft mac and cheese I found in Earline's kitchen the other day. You think that's still safe to cook and eat? I didn't even open the box, just put it back. Maybe it belongs in a museum now."

Ocean didn't really spend a lot of time working out. They were far too lazy to put so much work into their appearance. Besides, they got plenty of exercise running from their own shenanigans. Still, the gym was often an entertaining place to go. They loved to people-watch, at the very least. Ocean was leaning against one of the lesser-used machines, sipping at their water bottle that didn't actually contain water as they looked around at the individuals working out. When someone approached them, they glanced at him, almost surprised. "Oh, did you need this machine?" They asked, glancing at the machine they were leaning against. "I'm not using it. Honestly kind of cruising right now, how sad is that," Ocean said with a light laugh.

"Hey, you one of those commune people?" It was almost like a greeting. The tone wasn't unfriendly, anyway. They didn't mean anything by it really, just an observation due to their proximity and body language. The way someone stood near where they were fairly comfortable, if not completely comfortable. Ocean offered a lazy smile as they approached Jane. "So what's it like in there? I've heard there are commune-only orgies, and I'm dying to know how those are. I would love some details, if you've got them."
