❝ you would? ❞ cheeks immediately tint slightly red, as if garrett has never taken her home before. but walking her home following a date is entirely different than a ride home here and there. actually, if she's honest, everything about this evening has been different than her usual interactions with the firefighter. for starters, this isn't just them running into each other. he asked her on a date, an actual date. and, after a moment of hesitation (caused more by the different in age rather the lack of attraction to him), she agreed. ❝ uh, ❞ she looks down, attempting to hide the blush. ❝ i'd really like it if you walked me home. ❞ and a gentle giggle follows.

・ ⸺ ⋆ it's such a cliche for him ... gideon adores being outside more than he does being cooped up inside. has been half tempted to pull his king-sized bed out into the vast garden and just sleep under the stars. IT WAS THE ANIMAL IN HIM ... but he also loved his comfort. oh the woes of gideon raeburn, but outside is where he belonged.

WHO ELSE WILL DEFEND HIM IF NOT HER? They are the youngest of their siblings, with no important titles nor keeps to call their own. Renly remains lord of Storms End and would not force them from their home but it is only a matter of time before the dreaded chains of marriage come to steal her away.

THERE IS MUCH TO BE UNCERTAIN OF AS OF LATE AND THE FATE OF HER FATHER'S HOUSE LIES ON A KNIFE'S EDGE. Should the worst come to worst and her siblings come to blows, her boys will not be spared the bloodshed that follows. (Nor the target on their backs if Rhaenyra and her nephews should fall, Tully blood or no.)

"I worry for your grandsire. We have not visited the Red Keep for some time." Each time they do, more and more has been changed, shifted from the dragons of her childhood to the Queen Consort's beloved seven-pointed star. (What is left of her mother in those halls?)
