I haven't found a single program that I use on Debian (a linux-based operating system that drank the systemd kool-aid) that isn't available on FreeBSD (a UNIX-based operating system that systemd can't run on).
The only things holding me back at the moment are: (1) deciding on which available hard drives to use in my box, (2) (a) some of my ephemera are not backed up locally and (b) the drive they're on is slowly failing in a spectacular manner
How spectacular? Just shy of blue smoke. Reading data at about ten megabytes per minute, and the number of reallocated blocks is going up at a measureable rate. My kern.log is approaching ten thousand lines in under a day of uptime as I try to make the backup that I thought about doing two months ago. Let's see who wins the race...
