Ciao Italia

Lake Como was our last stop in Italy, which was sad because everything about Italy is amazing, yet welcome because we went a little OTT in embracing the whole Italian culture thing and basically ate our hearts out.

It was incredibly hard to keep track of what we ate 1. because of the aforementioned lack of planned meal times and 2. because of the sheer quantities in which we ate things. So here is a rough estimation of what we consumed, to reflect upon and say 'never again' and also to make you incredibly jealous because Italian food really is one of the best cuisines in the world and no, Lygon Street does not compare.

- 30 pizzas. To be honest, probably more. Yes, thin crust, but have a think about it. 30. - 90% of the pizzas were Margherita. - 5 tiramisu. All consumed by me. - 7 scoops of gelato from apparently the 'Best Gelateria in the World (in 2007 baha)'. 4 of these were Claudia's. - No idea how much gelato in total, since Clauds has been eating ice cream in every single country. - A few artichokes - Possibly around 30 'complimentary' bread baskets. - Several bruschetta - Around a dozen spag bols - A fair few crustaceans. Dina usually heads this count with her love of ripping apart sea life. - Too much wine. - A LOT of cheese. Cheese on pizza. Cheese on pasta. Cheese and wine. Cheese by itself. Cheese in dessert. Just a lot of cheese really.
