and mike realizes he couldnt even say he loved el when he thought she was going to sacrifice herself and die with the upside down in 86,

will tries to comfort mike saying he knows he never got over el and seeing her with someone else must be horrible, and mike realizes he should be devatsated or ehartbroken but he isnt he's just nostalgic.

through the whole story from when they met again whnenever will mentions his boyfriend or whatever mike gets cold and rigid and will thinks that is homophobia, and they fight will saying if he's uncomfortable with will hw should just say so and storms off,

that's when the mindflayer gets Will, says he's mini henry, the same, he sees henry's memories. 'patty tried to save henry but she couldnt, you have no one to even try', but he does though,

that's why they couldnt remember the basement scene where they realized they had reciprocated feelings why max couldnt remember when max and will had gotten close,

what secret it stemmed from, how she wasnt surprised hopper was alive or anything. how powerful will was, was hidden and so was his ove that's why vecna and the flayer manipulated his coming out so mike and will dont happen.

so mike knows how to end the cycle why being tthe heart was important, why he forgot what the paintig meant, or that he'd gone to lenora for will's birthday to see him too too not just for summer to see el.

Mike's love was enouh to save, He jsut tried it with the wrong person, will is powerful but he needs the paladin to keep the sorcerer in the light.
