I gave up on holding out for a commercial planer, and drove a few hours to pick this guy up. It was a good price, and I've been without a thickness planer for over a year now. After placing my order on 3 OCT, and then waiting, on 16 JAN, the Shelix cutter for the old Grizzly G1018 jointer finally arrived. It was stressful, since no less than three different heads were a possibility, but I managed to select the correct one, and it installed in about 20 minutes. It's hard to believe, but this thing is quieter, while cutting, than the original head was, just running on its own. I made two versions of the video, showing the installation of the Byrd Spiral cutter in the DW735. A shorter one, starting with a before and after cut, and then only showing the installation. The other version, has a longer lead in, showing the maintenance with waxing it, and cleaning the rollers.
