-And before she knew it Nimbus was there. As soon as she saw XD she was ready to fight. Hurling a well placed wither skull in his direction, exploding on impact, she dove into battle-

-She could’ve sworn the energy in the area was getting unbearable. She shook the feeling off, and continued to fight. Mainly trying to divert DreamXD’s attacks away from Wren and the others. Her fur stood on end like it was reacting to static. She could’ve sworn with every blow she took her heart skipped a few beats.-

focus, my child. her mother whispered in her head. focus, so you can save her.

okay, she mentally whispered back

Wren took a deep breath in and focused her mind, focused all her thoughts on channeling her power. Everyone held their breaths as Wren literally began to transform. Elegant ebony horns sprouted from her head and she changed...

now, standing where Wren once stood was an enderdragon. wings fully outstretched and a crown of gold atop her head. the remade crown of the enderqueens.

she roared and shot toward XD, angry smoke leaving her nostrils

-She saw a figure in the distance. She had to glare through the barreling snow to see them, but they were there. White fluffy coats against the snow, all white and icy. Was that… her family?! Why would they be here?! Nim tried to make a sound but all that came out was another yip. She tried to approach them, but the snow sank below her paws, and was too deep to travel. The more she went forward, the further the figures of her family seemed to recede-

-Eventually tired and cold, she laid down, on the verge of tears. What was this place? Why was she here? She had so many questions and nobody around to answer-

Wren was speechless. She could do nothing but stare at the limp body of her friend. The corpse that had turned into a still, white fox

She almost felt as if her heart was breaking. Her very reason for living, her best friend was dead. And the worst part was, Wren herself had killed her.

you should have killed the attacker earlier, then this wouldn't have happened

and she was too damn tired and broken to bother fighting off ghost's voice.

-She was silent the whole way through, aside from a groan of pain, refusing to let her eyes close-

-Suddenly a cold wind pierced through her fur, making her flinch and open her eyes when she hadn’t even closed them. Her surroundings were not familiar. Since when did she get in the middle of a tundra? Since when was it snowing? Since when was it so dark? The low temperature immediately bit into her body-

-Nimbus looked around, yelling for help, but all that same out were the yips and yowls of a wild fox. She looked down and saw four paws and not two legs.-

-Back in the overworld, her corpse began to shift and change, coming back to the normal arctic fox that it once was because her heart had stopped-

Wren let out a heart-wrenching scream as she felt Nimbus's heart stop. because her best friend was gone. actually gone. and for some reason, even though they'd never talked about it, wren had a strong feeling that it had been Nimbus's last life.

The enderdragon hybrid collapsed, trying so so hard to remain strong and stoic but failing.

she let out a choked sob

-Well this is really how I die huh. As Wren’s heart started beating faster, hers was getting slower. In fact everything seemed as if it was was getting slower. She blinked, and her eyelids seemed to delay in opening again. Nimbus was getting dizzy and lightheaded, slowly slumping to the ground.-

-She did not give up though, she kept her eyes open, refusing to go into death’s arms just yet-

I don't know what's happening to me, but please-

-Nim’s mind was reeling. What. What the fuck?! Nononono this couldn’t be right. Nimbus desperately wanted to fight back, but she couldn’t bring herself to even lay a claw on Wren.

-Zephyrus was at a loss for words, she looked on horrified. Until her mind managed to convince her to get out of here and run home for her own safety-

-Nimbus could feel her strength leaving her body and pooling out on the grass-

Wren... returned, ghostie having retreated once again.

She let out a strangled cry of shock and pain as she dropped down to the ground next to Nimbus.

Nim. No no no no no nononononono... her voice trailed off, becoming more desperately frantic with each "no".

She ripped of a piece from the bottom of her shirt, pressing it to the gaping wound in her friend's side. Her heart was beating wildly, chest rising and falling rapidly with her erratic breaths.

Nimbus don't you dare leave me. Stay awake please.

Tears began streaming down her cheeks.

"what have I done?" she thought "what have I done?!"

please please please please she begged, beginning to sob. please please please....

“You want her?! Have her then!” -Her attacker may have been fast, but years of battles and war made her near superhumanly strong. Using this to her advantage, she dropped the axe, using Nimbus’s momentum to grab her by the arms and swung her away. She was entirely unaffected by the withering effect that would usually come with touching Nimbus directly-

-Nimbus landed with a small oof, stars filled her vision, but she refused to give up. If there was someone equally as evil as Dream, it would be her. Zephyrus crossed her arms, looking from Nimbus on the ground to Wren. Her eyes widened a bit when she felt a strange sense of familiarity.-

but someone was hurting Nimbus. that's all that took over wren's mind. She'd gone through too much and she wasn't going to let nim go through it to.

with a wild fury, she slashed and attacked. her blade and body moving so fast even her jet black claws weren’t visible.

and ghostie was yelling.

don’t stop fighting, wren. don’t stop. keep fighting or nimbus will die.

and so she did. even as someone’s screams and shouts rang in her ears, she didn’t stop attacking. not until her body froze.

-Zephyrus realized too late that what she was holding was not a stick, but an axe. Nimbus couldn't dodge, but luckily only sustained an injury that wasn't *immediately* lethal. Nim snarled something at her-"You destroyed my home, ruined my life!"-Zeph showed her teeth, Nimbus completely missing an important detail, they were charcoal black like her own.- "For the last time I don't know who the fuck you are!" /🧋 (As c!Nim and c!Zeph)

Wren shifted back to her human form, drawing out and slashing her sword in one smooth motion.

Her main goal was to get Nimbus away from her attacker, because whoever the mystery person was, Wren could most definitely handle them

but ghostie continued to whisper in the depths of her mind. dark thoughts of triumph.

I don't know who the hell you are, wren growled as she fought. but you better get away from her.
