Studying Defense: Alice and Sam

Alice had actually arrived at the library well before when she’d planned to meet Sam to ensure that she could get a good table while most everyone else was still at dinner. Her efforts paid off, and she was able to claim a table with a good view of the entrance but still a little removed. She briefly looked over her OWL notes to refresh her memory, and jotted down some starting points to assess where Sam was with the material. Alice enjoyed helping other students study, particularly Defense Against the Dark Arts, and more than once she’d considered joining the society of tutors. In the end it always came down to she just didn’t have the time to make such a commitment. So she contented herself to offering help to anyone she thought might need it.
when she saw Sam enter the library, she stood and waved, calling his name loudly enough to earn a glare from Madam Pince. “Sam, over here!”
