“A nice cup of coffee, a good book, scented candles. Its a miracle combination. If that doesn’t work, baths usually get the job done.”

“Assuming I can’t wish for more wishes? God, okay. My first wish would be to see the Library of Alexandria. That’s a life dream. For my second, I would wish to be fluent in every language on earth, even the dead ones. For my third, I would ask to be unbeatable. In every sense of the term. I’d win every argument, win every fight, no one would be able to take me down.”

“I feel like maybe I should go with a more lighthearted answer, but I really would like to talk to my dad again, just once. I’d probably go with him.

Maybe if Verda had been there, the blonde’s best friend could have gotten her out on the ice. However, the bartender had ventured out to the holiday market alone to meet with her dealer, a person who had yet to show up. So after a quick stop to get some hot chocolate, she stood by the side of the rink, adding a small airplane bottle of peppermint vodka to her drink as she watched the various levels of skaters on the ice.
“Oof.” She muttered, flinching as she watched someone fall, leaning against the railing to get a better look. “How many skating amputations do you think happen ever year?” Turning to the man standing next to her, she awaited an answer with raised brows. “I mean, the skates are super sharp, right? And people are constantly falling. Someone’s had to of lost a finger or two at some point.”
