“You’ve got all the nymphs and satyr’s in a tizzy.” Corinth spoke up, sitting about ten feet from Leland atop a mostly buried boulder. This was one of his favorite spots too, and it seemed whenever the group survived a difficult night all he wanted during the days following was sunlight and peace. Even if that meant he had to be alone. A soft grin was spread across his face, friendly and intrigued. “You’re the new guy, right?”
Obviously, yet Corey allowed the introduction to be a little plain and dry. The rookie had a lot to take in. “I’m Corey, son of Apollo.” His tone wasn’t serious or regal, every part of the redhead remained casual. It didn’t take much to recall what it was like to be stolen away from life on earth and end up here. “Hermes mentioned bringing in a few more hard hitters… Are you alright?”
Leland turns at the voice, eyes darting open quickly as he takes in the redhead’s appearance. Sunlight washes over him and, instead of drowning him out, seems to make him look as if he’s sunlight itself. “Because I’m new?” He asks sheepishly. He’s nothing special, he doesn’t understand why they’d be excited over him.
When the other introduces himself it all makes sense. THe way the sunlight dances across his body, how it illuminates his hair in a halo. “Leland, son of Boreas.” He’ll never get used to saying that, of introducing himself as the son of anyone, least of all a god. “If alright is surviving the night after drinking that ambrosia and wanting to rip out my insides, then I guess. This is all just...a lot.” He turns his attention back over his shoulder to the lake before turning back toward Corey, hands sliding into his pockets as his toes dig into the sand. “Have you been here long?”
